Just another minute. He smiled at the fizzi again, and he jumped onto Bat's shoulder and smiled at Tam. 

They reached the lake, which was in a round chamber full of crystal. It glowed from the bottom with a purple light. Ledges grew from the walls outward ten feet above the water. The whole chamber glowed with the water's reflections. 

The fizzi stuck his tongue out at Tam.

He was kind of tempted to go swimming. The water was always nice and cold.

It was really pretty, honestly. Kind of mesmerizing, in a way.

I’ve been good. Especially seeing my family and talking to my dad. I owe them a lot, I think.
