”No,” Ria said, sensing that the “yes, occasionally but not enough that you need to worry” was a good idea.

It was, in fact, quite warm and humid.

Shoe raised an eyebrow but said nothing.

Tam let her hand drop.

"So . . . should we go? What were we talking about?"

“Maybe… maybe because she doesn’t want to be. Maybe she’s so scared of being vulnerable, she needs to feel powerful.”

Five was basically blind as well. She blinked, edged toward the doors, and then paused.

In the center of the book's cover was set a ruby that seemed to reflect just a little too much light. "Er, excuse me, I'm terribly sorry to intrude, but... I believe I am lost." He adjusted his glasses awkwardly. "Quite lost, actually. Very lost indeed."
