"Nah," he said. "Was, maybe. But I don't think you're a god. Just a witch." He grinned.

-

She smiled gratefully and went nom.

She snorted and laughed.

Wow, thanks, she grinned sarcastically.

Shall I turn you into a frog, then? Make you fall in love with a tree? she said in a British accent.

-

Irie watched with satisfaction.

"Did they . . . give you much food, ever?"

Nom :D

No prob :D

"Hmm." Lise nodded thoughtfully. "All right. Let's talk a bit about you now. What do you want?"

"Nah," he said. "Was, maybe. But I don't think you're a god. Just a witch." He grinned.

-

She smiled gratefully and went nom.

She frowned and touched his forehead with her good hand, but she still couldn't heal him. She clenched her teeth. "I'll try again tomorrow. See you, then."

“I don’t know. Right now, the ability to move freely”

"Good." Cadewyn sat back, letting Eepy clamber around as she saw fit. "Now, will you tell me how you got here, or where and what the place is?"

"I was brought here by another of your kind. Some magician. She said this is her preserve."

He gagged.

No no no no no. I don't want to be a frog.

Fall in love with a tree? How does that work? What would I even love about it??

She laughed harder.

I don't know! Those just sound like . . . WITCHY things, y'know?

Bat the frog, she snickered.

-

"Did they feed you much . . . ?" Irie asked Five.

Stop, he groaned, hiding his face in his free hand. I don't wanna be a frog, ew.

"Every day," she replied, nodding.

She beamed. "Yes! Yes, excellent plan!"

Rebus opened a portal to the nearest metropolis. It wasn’t how he usually teleported, but he thought it might be less abrupt.

“Hm. Since you won’t confirm the existence of any evil goals, perhaps you could tell us about your regular goals?”

“I have learned much. But first, you said you had Nullite?”

Rebus looks slightly disappointed he cannot continue being evasive. “I want to do interesting things, have a legacy, stay alive, that sort of thing. I’ll leave the logical leaps towards my motive as an exercise for those who’ve already had their identity crises.”

“I do, yes. I want to hear what you have so far, though I suppose we can set up something time-consuming first.”

It leads into a big city, either modern or slightly futuristic. There are tons of people bustling around, mostly modern-day humans but - because this is TLT - there are some more magical people about.

He jumped.

.....

well, as long as he wasn't the frog... he picked her up.

-

"...once? I think? It was hard to tell."

He snorted. "Nope."

“You haven’t seen anything yet.” Rebus takes her by the hand and pulling her through the portal and into the sky. The city sprawls below them, thousands of streets like the one she’d been gawking at laid out below them.

Tam sat up and wiped her eyes, embarrassed now that someone else had walked in.

You- you do look kinda familiar, she told him.

Bat sat up too. "Hey," he said. "I don't know. Maybe?"

The Valiant One narrowed his eyes. "You do seem familiar, but I can't place where I've seen you before." He shrugged. "Anyways, what are your names? I'm called the Valiant One. I'm an adventurer." The Valiant  One looked between Bat and Tam, blessedly ignorant as to their conversation but still able to see their facial expressions and hear their laughter. "I assume you're both telepathic?"

Balitan pulled out a notebook and flipped through the pages. "So far, I have confirmed the structure of Prismite, tested the rate at which it is used up by various applications of Narrative abilities, and confirmed the density of the sample you gave me. I would say rather low, if my math is correct." He looked up at Rebus. "What tasks did you have for me?"

“And I’d do it again. I just want to go somewhere and think. Quietly.” He said, closing his eyes and trying to ignore the people around him. “When you’ve been in a quiet dark rook as long as I have, this gets pretty overwhelming pretty quick”

Bat bat! I sound like a child saying that- Bat the bat?

Going to assume this happened separately from Nameless' conversation :P

She nodded and took in Five's thin frame.

"Much more. Er- a healthy amount, at least."

Rebus raised an eyebrow. “What motivation do you have? Be good at being evil because I was told to?”

Rebus steepled his fingers, nodding along. “I didn’t even consider density, though I suppose that makes sense. My harvesting process is rather questionable - I think Luxite would improve it significantly. And a Narrator cores being conduits for power is something I should consider as well… What I’m trying to do is find and alter between other qualities of fundamental power, besides light/dark and order/chaos.”
