"Look!" She grabbed Bat's arm and pointed at Tam's ears.

"Uh... yeah."

"Ooo! Wait, is that a tattoo?" She traced his tattoos down his arm, fascinated.

"Uh..... yes, they're... yes."

Tam grabbed Bat's other arm and pulled him away from Soliel, suddenly anxious.

Something about the way Soliel was acting made her nervous and distrustful.

“Have you gone swimming a lot?” He asked.

She nodded curtly and ran at the monster.

Cricket followed.

She grinned and nodded.

She took two of the tiny rubies and turned them into studs, which she put on her ears.

Soliel moved back. “—Sorry, I didn’t mean to… do… whatever I did.” She frowned.

“It’s okay,” Bat told her.

got it

Cricket dashed through the hailstorm of rubble, ignoring the pain as his skin was sliced up by the flying rocks. He would come through with hundreds of scars unless somebody was able to heal him. He leapt at the monster, forming a sword out of energy and slashing at the monster.

It's not.

He shrugged. She probably just doesn’t know how people work. She says she hasn’t seen another person for years…

*cough cough rose cough*

This cut the monster far better, and it roared again, swinging its tail to knock him down.

She looked at her feet.

That was true . . . but something still seemed off . . .

“Perhaps I simply believe in finding out what she can do.”

Rebus tilts his head to the side is a “perhaps” shrug. “I suppose so. She can die and you cannot, so if you do end up outmatched or merely taken by surprise by the Ennulling grenades, that would be problematic. Though I suppose we could bring you back.” He smiles. “Causally duels would be interesting, actually, once we cover fighting. Villain combat is fun - you get to casually backhand people, or use your powers to the same effect while you stand there looking scary.”
@Halcyon The Only, is Ruia listening? Or the mercenary, for that matter.

yeah still

now hes bleeding all over

thank goodness for adrenaline

He flinched as the tail sent him crashing to the ground. He staggered to his feet, gazing up at the monster, and sent two more beams of Nulling energy at it.

Another lady appeared in front of Tam and Bat. She was clad in an elegant black dress that looked suited for a funeral, but she looked cheery. "Hello!" she said, smiling.

She jumped and swam in-between the woman and Bat.

"I can't make it appear for much longer than a few seconds!" he shouted back, dodging a large rock. "Can you use your ash powers or something?

He ducked out of the way. His leg burned like fire, but he ignored it, summoning another pillar of darkness. He swore. This was draining his energy fast.

The woman calmly stood, still smiling. "I'm Luck. Lady Luck. Now, who are you two?"

He might want to be more direct in where he's hitting 😂

The beast roared again and started stomping around wildly.

-

She raised an eyebrow.

“Not when it’s alive!” She healed him.

Soliel, a young woman with deep black hair and a fish tail, brightened. “Another human!!”

He summoned his strength, as his knees caved, and slammed a blast directly at the creature's head.

-

"Don't believe me?" she fished a coin out of her pocket, and tossed it through the water perfectly. Not only did it defy every physics, and flip as a coin above air would, it landed on its side on a rock.

She said a very interesting word. “You sure you can’t give me a weapon?”

-

Soliel looked fascinated.

“Nice,” Bat acknowledged.

"I... uh. Okay, but the longer you keep it, the more energy I'll lose. I trust you... listen, just kill the monster." he said, making her a longsword out of pure darkness.

-

"Interesting, isn't it? How lucky we all are? I control it all."

She nodded. “I’ll be careful. Thanks.”

She charged the monster and buried the sword into its belly (or tried to, depending on how @Through The Living Glass feels about that).

-

“Really?” Soliel asked, fascinated.

1 minute ago, Dragonheir said:

“That’s a villain skill as well. A subtle, smug smirk of amusement rather than a smile or grin.” Rebus copies the expression.

She chuckled. “Quite. I consider myself rather good at being a villain.”

"Yeah. My older brother's Fate, but they're more intertwined than you would imagine. You three meeting? Luck."
