“You know Tam and Cricket. I dunno about the priest.”

Tellin hissed and backed up, hair prickling.

Because I am your only hope of banishing the other demon.

"How do I know you, if you don't mind me asking?"

7 hours ago, Ookla the Irreplaceable said:

"Not, with coming up with you, but with seeing how you interact, seeing how you've grown."

He shrugged. "I don't know. I'm just a little bit desperate, okay?"

3 hours ago, Ookla the Irreplaceable said:

“Antidote.” he nodded. “I wonder… if other forms of magic, besides Narration or Enulling, could get it out?”

Highly unlikely. There are no forms of magic higher in nature.

He raises an eyebrow. “My creativity comes, in part, from my soul. And I can see applications, just not ones worth the costs. A shroud of all-consuming darkness and a shroud of all-consuming light have the same uses. I could use vacuums, but I can already through teleportation. I could destroy all that try to stop me, but in either case I’d be ignored.”

The wind slowed. "If you will not pay the cost... then so be it."

Tam looked at him worriedly. "Um . . . Bacon? Are you okay?"

"Because . . . because you care about me, and you've helped us and kept us alive and fought with us and defended us . . ." she shrugged, "And you're just a good person, Bat."

"Still you is a wonderful thing to be, Bat."

We'll be fine. We'll all figure something out.

"You don't have to have crazy powers to be able to do something."

*nods appreciatively*

She nodded and shivered.

She hugged him a little tighter, then let go.

"Apparently not," said Bacon, rubbing his forehead. "I seem to have lost a decent chunk of my memory."

“I… I was following you with the withergeists… I guess I’m kind of forgettable.” Bat looked down.

“Higher? The poison could be coded to only deal with the prevalent forms of magic, not minor ones.”

He closed his eyes. “Let me know when it’s done, please.”

Rebus nods, though Cricket cannot see it. The nanomachines begin categorizing and extracting contaminants. The process would take around 45 seconds.
It’s up to you if this works for the poison (if it’s mundane, it should. If it’s magic, I’m not sure). It’ll improve Cricket’s health too, removing any toxic buildup of normal chemicals.

@xinoehp512 Rebus nods to Bacon. “Hello. I trust you are doing well. How is your podcast going?”

Wait, is Bacon with Tam, Bat, and Cricket?

It should heal him.

"Is it done yet?" he said again, still gripping her hand. He hated operations.

Nanomachines carrying toxins squeeze back out of Cricket’s pores. Rebus has them gather the substances in a ball, held together by one layer. “I am done. Your body now contains fewer contaminants than it has since before you were born.” He smiles.

There’s really no reason to put that here. If you’d like to join the RP, you can, but your new topic is automatically displayed in several parts of the shard, and doesn’t need any additional advertisement.

"No." he said quickly, smiling. "And the pain's stopped too!" he smiled at Tam. "I've stopped hurting."

Rebus smiles back, and the ball of toxins evaporates, stored and put to use by the nanomachines. Soullessness reducing his initiative, he clasps his hands behind his back and waits for something relevant to him to happen.
I’m gonna be off for at least a while, maybe for tonight.

Rebus shakes his head. “I wish for a tool to either assist me in causing all sorts of plot, or one to protect me should the type of plot that has been caused is conflict. Which is not quite the same, though similar. The form of the weapon… my primary weapon now is utility fog - nanotech that moves and shapes itself as I direct. I am unsure how you could forge such a thing, considering that a vital element is the redundancy and ease of replacement for one individual foglet.”

He stared at him for a long time, then seized the spear and lifted it high, bringing it down into the stomach of the Faceless, impaling him. "Lie your way out of this one, monster." he whispered. "I am Ragnorak's reckoning. I will bring vengeance."

Yes, he's a drama queen. :)

The Faceless's laugh cut off, and it grunts in pain. "Well." It said with blood leaking from its lips. "Thanks for the weapon. I will enjoy killing you all with it." It smile returned, form melting into liquid as it... utterly failed to break free of the ropes, which glowed with a faint blue light as it struggled to shapeshift around them. The real Moni snorted softly as the creature reformed into her shape, now looking genuinely fearful. "Er, surely we can come to some agreement!" It said desperately. "I don't-I didn't kill his friends, I swear!" Palsu stepped forward angrily at this. "Yes you did! You were gloating at first, but now that you realize you can't escape, you'll say anything to stay alive." The Faceless's eyes, wide with fear, spun towards Palsu. "I-no, wait! You don't understand, he is the Faceless!" It cried desperately. Palsu's eyes widened with rage "I-I'm a Faceless? How dare you!" He stormed towards the Faceless. "Faceless killed my friends! You killed my friends!" He shouted. Then he scooped a rock off the ground and slammed it into the Faceless's skull with an audible *crack*. "And you'll never-*smack*-hurt-*crack*-ANYONE-*crack*-AGAIN!" The blood of the Faceless pooled around Palsu as he stared, wild-eyed and breathing in gasps, at the ruin of the dead creature's skull. Behind him, Moni collapsed against a wall, face white as a sheet.

"Of course. A weapon to cause Plot and protect you from conflict. And a weapon to suit your personality as a Narrator and scientist. I can forge this for you." He smiled. "And I know just what form would suit such a weapon."

“Hm. That’s an excellent definition.” She dragged her nails across the table. “But I would argue that the man with the world in his hands, yet unable to achieve immortality, is more powerful than the millionaire who wishes for a slice of cheese.” Her eyes glittered. “The end goal is to have enough power to achieve your goals and hold onto them. Power is the means. With that in mind, again, what is power?”

"I think that my definition still stands, although I would say revise it to say that power is the ability to achieve goals, in general, not your goals specifically." Malevolence said thoughtfully. "That millionaire might have enough power for his ambition, but he is still weaker than the ruler of a planet even if he is happier than that man." He thought on what he'd said for a moment. "This is another aspect of evil. To never be satisfied with what you have. To always stretch to the limits of your power and beyond to reach higher and higher heights, until finally there must be no higher heights to reach."

As Subversion wrote, an ennuller came to take 656 away. He said something to her in a low voice, which seemed to cause her to become agitated.

Subversion glanced up. "Hey! Don't go wipe her memory. 655 is real. Or at least he was at one point. Moniker met him once or twice."

"Perhaps you remember me from the time I attempted to *ahem* encourage Shoe and Beosta to marry quickly in order to avoid future heartbreak." The Priest frowned briefly, but then his bright smile returned. "Or perhaps not. Anyways, I must be off! There's a wedding today, and I don't mean to miss it!" He hurried off, carrying his massive book along with him.

A rabbit watched the wind speak to the Narrator with no soul, its ears perked. The words of their conversation sparked something within the rabbit, something besides its eternal hunger. Perhaps it should wait to eat the soulless one until the wind had finished speaking.
