With a pop, The Sword gained sentience.

The Sword already had sentience. It had all the powers and positive properties of every sword ever made, and gained all the properties of every new sword made. Including, unfortunately, the Phoenix sword. Nameless appeared, holding The Sword. His Sword.

Unfortunately for him, he was still a squid.

[Jaywalk he/him]

With a bladder issue.

The Sword was, quite frankly, embarrassed.

The Sword restored Nameless to his normal Narrator state, as there are hundreds of swords that heal the wielder.

The Sword is Impossible 

The Sword, who goes by the name Impossible, was a Pacifist

The Sword decided to leave Nameless and belong to Butt, since he'd pulled it out of the stone.

The Sword demanded to be called by its name, Impossible

But after a brief negotiation decided to accept the name Jimmy.

ITS NAME WAS IMPOSSIBLE

Jimmy decided to retake Impossible as it’s name

It was rather glad for the moniker, as he'd been rather tired of having a two-letter name.

Jimmy was now called Impossible, as it was before

Butt got confused by all the name switches and forgot the name.

Nameless watched as the arguing narrators created a copy of his Sword. The Sword's real name was of course Shar, short for "Sharp Pointy Stick" as that was the earliest name for a sword. It sometimes went by "Very sharp pointy stick" or V. Shar for short. It was also immune to all narrating except for that of the wielder, and had never been in a stone, as that might have caused it to be called out for copying Excalibur, which would never do for The Sword. Also, it would not leave Nameless at a whim. Unlike some other swords, it was loyal.

Silence might have been gone, but even the mimes knew when enough was enough. They carefully walled off the previous post from existence and gave Nameless a citation.

Besides, The Sword was a Pacifist and would never hurt anybody!

The only way it could hurt someone is by jerking their arm to a stop before it hits something

There was also the risk of it falling on someone's toe.

Though it would usually wake up and hover before that happened
