Dr. Who Octopus cackled as he raised the Sword with one of his many appendages. Soon the world would be his.

Dr. Who Octopus realized that The Sword was still rising. It lifted out of his hands and shot off, disappearing right before it hit the ceiling.

But not out of his tentacles.

All that remained of the Sword was a glowing afterimage.

It had teleported to the Far-off land, bringing Dr. Who Octopus along for the ride.

The Sword disappeared out of Dr. Who Octopus' grasp, leaving him floating in the air over a volcano. He didn't float for long.

A moment later, Dr. Who Octopus was teleported to the Sword again. It apologized for accidentally leaving him behind.

Little did he know, the Sword was not The Sword.

Except The Sword had existed for as long as swords did, so Dr. Who Octopus actually didn't have The Sword, just a fake copy of it. Dr. Who Octopus planned to make the Sword into The Sword, but that was impossible.

Except of course, by one simple trick.

Dr. Who Octopus was taken by the Sword even farther into the past.

The instant they passed the time the first sword was created, the Sword officially became The Sword.

"Goodness," grumbled Dr. Who Octopus. "Can't an cephalopod take over the world in peace these days?"

“Well yes!” Said Impossible, who had travelled back in time further, so as to still be The Sword, “that is an admirable goal! In fact I will help you if you promise to eliminate violence from the time you pick me up!”

Nameless stepped into the Cognitive realm. The Sword appeared in his hand. He could feel that it was... older, somehow. "I suppose that The Sword came into existence the moment a sword did. you could not make just any sword into The Sword." He smiled, then threw The Sword. It disappeared in a flash, travelling to the one place it would be safe from all who would conspire to steal it. A place where only one who was truly worthy could reclaim it. The Temple of Blades.
