He had another surprise in store for Jasnah and Max. A young girl rose up behind Marsh. “Uncle?” she asked. “Where are we?” 1

But he had been wrong. His master had been right. He shouldn't have tried to involve himself in the Narrative. He shouldn't have made himself a character.
