"The monkeys are harmless," Viridis said, walking along a sturdy branch and plucking a fruit. "It's their predators we need to worry about. I can take first watch."

"Eagle," he whispered, before realising that the sound was coming from far, far above the canopy, and was way louder than any an eagle could make. He tried squinting through the trees, and only caught tiny flashes of red in the sky. He had never heard of anything like this, not in all the time he had lived here. He considered investigating, but there wasn't really anything he could do; climbing higher would risk being snatched up by an eagle, and the thing seemed to be falling very fast over the island. It would probably land somewhere in the ocean, and he couldn't go all the way back to the coast now. Tomorrow, he had to reach the pool. Then, he would see about the unidentified falling object. Swimming in land? @Ink and Embers @Just A Silvereye @Keke y'all would hear this too A low screeching sound was audible behind Kiornight, from above. Above, of all directions? Spinning, a strange colour of light blurred the air as someone fell fast towards the island - no, towards the ocean nearby. The roar grew into something almost deafening, almost sentient, then cut off as the falling object landed. Kiornight paused, listening to the hiss of the impact's aftermath. Another strange force at play on the island; another power here to interfere. The logical decision would be to continue onwards, to the pool. The sensible decision would be to at least interact with someone (well, he'd tried with the person in the tree earlier). Too many beings were around, confusing and changing. He could at least try to understand what they were. Cursing internally, Kiornight spun and searched over the branches until he found the tree people from earlier, talking to another creaking entity that glowed with a yellow light. He settled atop a nearby tree's crown and listened.

The Venusaur stopped a short distance from Kingslayer and the Pikachu, darkness gathering around the flower on its back. (and replying to @Through the Living Wrath) Pikachu met Kingslayer's outstretched hand and shook it, just like these wretched humans do to each other. However, he could tolerate them because they aren't doing anything troublesome toward him. "Kingslayer... I can speak in your tongue," Pikachu mumbled. "Although, I like using my language better. I will reject your offer, as I do not know what you are talking about, in the slightest." (In English - I assume that's the language we all are speaking. By the way, he speaks in any 3-4 word combo of the name Pikachu, e.g Pika, chu, Pika Pika etc.) "But, I can take care of this Venusaur myself, your sword is worthless. As for the boy over there, I'll talk to him later, but I doubt he would stay if I approached." (In English - I'll point it out) Pikachu turned and faced the Venusaur, who was towering over his small body. Harnessing the electric reserves he controlled, he begun an attack, shouting, "Pika... CHUUUUUUUUU!" Sparks of electricity rushed out of his red cheeks, and focused it toward the Venusaur, creating his staple attack - the Thunderbolt. But this thunderbolt wasn't normal at all. In fact, it was 100,000 times more powerful. All that energy was pointed in one direction, just about to strike the grass and poison Pokemon.
