Guys page 4444 is coming

dun dun dunnnnnn

The Author, Shatter, covers the skies of the universe of TLT in a beautiful, crackling, eerie, ever-shattering and ever-reforming aurora to celebrate Page 4444.

The Author, now having done this, checks the time, and HOLY RUST, time to go to bed.

I like my Authorial Avatar. A humanoid form of ever-shattering, ever-reforming pink, green, blue, and red aurora or just a blanket of such aurora. It's cool.

The Dreamsmith set loose a crackling firestorm of many colors, forged with the happiest memories of his Author. It lit the World of dreams, bringing up fond old memories to all who were dead.

"No one. This is my purpose: To address situations like the one we find ourselves in. My core has been reactivated by my Author, for a limited time only." Nameless paused, squinting as if trying to make something out. "To address your Author's response, I would point out that, first of all, the process seems to be more dramatically more efficient than any other method of obtaining Luxite, including the converter which was made with Luxite. Second of all, I would point out that the efficiency hardly matters, since your Author also gifted you with enough Prismite and Nullite to replicate your experiment a hundred times over. Third of all, I would point out that there are consequences to such achievements like these, and I do not believe you have entirely thought them through."

I get that as a flaw, 9/10's thing is that he can undermine the story and the usual laws that govern it, but I think that there should be some drawbacks to his process beyond inefficiency when in truth, he has the resources to make an absurd amount of Luxite. Like, Rebus's plan involves killing/stealing the powers of multiple Narrators to make a Luxite blade, while 9/10 can just... make one. Probably two or three, honestly. Something like the Luxite created being false, or flawed in some way related to 9/10's nature would balance it better, I think.

The ground went straight through Subversion as if she wasn't there. A massive tesla cannon appeared, blasting out lightning meant to arc through all the Fog copies.

The Author who sent Subversion matters not. You rely on your Ennulling and Narrating far too much. They are petty toys, inconsequential compared to the true powers of destruction you now have access to. Continue to rely on them, and you prove yourself unworthy to be my right hand.

Ooh, flawed in some way is in fact a great idea

the original ideas to balance this was for a: hope someone takes the bait and steals the paper bags, or b: he tries again and accidentally blows the entire place up.
definitely not going to allow him personally to gain a lot of luxite. What he has now can definitely be offset by his essence, diluted or corrupted, and I don’t plan on him making more for now.

Night, fueled by the sheer power of the whims of her author and the 4444th page, projects auroraborealis-like lights throughout the skies of every relevant planet in the Thread to celebrate.

——

9/10 gazed up at the lights. “You were simply given power. The things I can do come from the power of the people who I used to be, before they were slaughtered, perverted and twisted into who I am now. Maybe the original NameIess had a balance to keep, but you, you’re a puppet.”

No! They’re supposed to be friends, so Bob can stop being tormented as badly without having to kill or trap the Wind!

also she’s not completely confined to the body, but the bulk pf her consciousness was moved there. She’s still the Wind at the same time, which makes her an Airbender

She sighed quietly to herself. He made a fair enough point.

She summoned Subversion to stand in front of her- the real Subversion, whatever that looked like, and summoned thr Dragon also. The chamber darkened enough, and the air thickened enough, to become horribly stifling. Subversion found herself unable to think clearly or use her Narration effectively as Fog snapped the Dragon around her neck in the form of a chained collar.

There, she thought in satisfaction, grinning once more.

Very little of that actually happened. The Subversion that appeared in front of Fog was a dummy with googly eyes and a sloppy smile drawn on. The dummy began whacking Fog upside the head with a squeaky hammer.

The Witherlord was silent while he parsed what Fog had been trying to do.

You think, he finally said incredulously, that I am capable of forcibly summoning Narrators from wherever they hide, disabling their powers, and holding them at my mercy? He sighed, and continued in a tone of forced patience. If I could do that, there would be no Narrators left. Rebus would have been the first to go, followed by every other Narrator, then every other character. I would have no need of a lieutenant, for I would have already won.

I was encouraging you to use Fog's withergeist abilities, not godmod my characters lol.

Okay, as long as he's not recreating Luxsprite society or drowning the Witherlord in an ocean of Luxite.

….

for fear, subversion was to late.

atlas lay on the ground, her body limp as the mist went into subversions vacuum. Her eyes were a faded red and a small smile twitched on her lips…. Atlas.. she always loved smiling. Through her cartoons, after she ran away, a grin plastered her face through the darkest of times. It’s only fitting she smiled as she met peace.

She wasnt angry at death, she was thankful that she would be able to meet her friends again, maybe she would go to elysium with cricket… or perhaps heaven with the scribe or seraphina.

Regardless of where she went she wanted people to be able to be happy, if her death meant anything if her life meant anything, it was joy. Joy in the small times, joy in the idle conversations between posts, or the thrill she learned from fighting.

She wanted to teach people that joy was one of the things you should cherish most, even if she had to teach herself this. It’s not forever, it cant be. For you cant exist forever. It’s the memories you make and the feelings you feel, good bad or ugly they stay with you more than a person.

So she told all this to the thread.

To everyone,

to the authors and characters alike,

any non narrators would feel this sense for an unknown reason, while narrators could read this.

A final message as a small light in a multiverse blinked out.

Pain. Existence was pain. Inkwell should have seen this coming- 9/10mmHB#2 was never his friend. But it still hurt. The mordite in his veins whispered darkness, revenge, hatred. This wasn’t who he was… but he liked it. He wasn’t conscious enough to consider the implications… but the mordite gave him power. For one thing, he didn’t have to rely on others to travel the Thread. No Flaw’s sword, no Narrator’s hawks… he burned black through the vacuum of space, trying to pull himself together. This wasn’t right. He had to fix this…

The sword. He needed the sword.

she blinked. "A rabbit? What no? What... huh."

"I was."

-

"I don't know of anything here by that name. Can you describe-" Something rocked the ship, almost throwing them off their feet.

Amoebus ducked, and the second dagger thudded into his torso, slotting neatly between the Mordite in his skin. He gasped, stumbling backwards.

Rebus nodded. "Regardless, you seem to be new here."

Lyric frowned, reaching out to take the coin from Jack. "What is that you hold, my friend?"

The Witherlord chuckled. "Not you." He gestured past Rebus to Symbol. "Her. And you should know why I have come. Long ago, you made a deal with Fate." He drew Malevolence, darkness spreading through the Dynessence ocean towards the rock upon which Rebus and the others stood. "You should have known that such deals never end well. I bring you the fruit of your own actions."

As soon as the coin was out of his hand, Jack blinked once more. Everything came rushing back, and he stumbled, briefly overwhelmed. Lyric, on the other hand, would probably forget what he had been doing.

Rebus let out a long, shaky breath. "It gave me time. Sometimes, that's all you can ask for."

A moment, and the guide was not there.

"Well," said Onyx to Rebus. "I suppose we have the seeds of a plan, now."

There was a hiss, and the eyes vanished.

A few moments later, the ship began to rock as withergeists swarmed it from below.

"Several plans, in fact - that's the best way to ensure one will work. One of mine needs you."

-

Rebus assembled a crystal in front of the light, directing beams of it to several withergeists. He was too late, though, some withergeists had already made it beneath the ship, where they couldn't be reached by the beams.

I was thinking that part is before the attack, since it makes the timeline work better. Your choice if we want to do that, though.

A nameless withergeist flew through the Void, searching. Searching for a place of power, a place of light-contained and not-light and not-real but real. This withergeist did not know why it wanted to find this place, but it searched nonetheless. It was good at searching, and would find the hateful light-contained. It would find it soon.
