I somehow have managed to get BOTH animations done before the one drawing 😭 (I had a bunch of free time in art class and I spent 90 percent of yesterday afternoon drawing.) Buuuut they are on my other phone and not done being edited yet so.

Erdikan glanced around, then approached            and Rebus, who were presumably also with Erryin.

"As have I," he said. "I'm not certain you want to do that."

Such things happen - I’m excited to see the animations when you get them edited.

You can try… A heist plotline would be quite interesting. A second heist plotline, I guess - one with more sneaking around and less proposing deals over and over until someone relents and agrees to one.

Rebus watched             , Erdikan, and Erryin argue for a moment. “The Witherlord would be returned, but I am not certain unleashed is a fitting description. I do not know your goal,       , but the more powerful Chaotic Dark entities are capable of reasoning and planning - and should all go well, I would be the bearer of the Mantle. And I would rather speak than fight, rather turn others to my side than destroy them - in most circumstances, at least. The Witherlord would not be the omnicidal force of mindless destruction you seem to fear.”

Lyric looked back at Jack, eyes unfocused. “What did you say?” He asked loudly. “I can’t hear you over the crowd!”

Jack shook his head - the man was seeing things. “There is something wrong - I think the air in here is messing with your head.” Jack carefully clasped Lyric’s wrist, intending to tow him back out of the mall to see if that helped.

Named nodded slowly. "So what am I to do now?"

I'm waiting for Chips' return sometime this month so the Trisolarans can arrive.

“I have a couple project that could use scientific input. Firstly is the issue of contacting my clone - the planet he’s one jams pretty much any attempt to travel or send messages to it, and even if I reached the surface it’s covered in magical superfluid. Of course, the conditions aren’t the only thing in my way - the Author of the other people there has been mostly absent for some time.” Rebus sighed. “My other project is more straightforward - some time ago, I created a mixture of Chaos and Order, with properties related to the manipulation of emergence. Of course, thus far it has mostly helped to combine my other magic into new applications, and occasionally destroyed my instruments. Though it’s not going to be nearly as powerful as the stable Essences - Ordered Darkness, Ordered Light, Chaotic Light, and Chaotic Darkness - I still think that there are further applications for it, and that it at the very least needs a name.”
Ah - perhaps I shall enter that plotline, when the time comes.

“Great!” Unintelligible whispered. Then, in a voice raised just enough for the rabbit to overhear, he continued. “Look, if that thing doesn’t start talking soon, we’d be better off just disposing of it.”

Oh, I do.

“Exciting!” Subversion said. “What kind of ally?”

Sequence blinked a few times, then nodded, falling into character. “I’d hate to do it, but… You are correct. I can go fire up the furnace.” She spoke just loud enough for the rabbit to hear, giving it a suspicious glance before moving to stand up.

" I... remember someone. It came to me with the power from that shard of metal." His face twisted into a grimace. "I think it has to do with my Author. I won't ignore that thing, not completely. Even if I do hate it."

He lead them through the portal to the back of a giant turtle, with a man and a tiny dragon standing on its back. "I have communicated with my author before," he spat to the side, "bastard that he is." @Sequence we gone through the portal.

Ivisyre gave the pair a look that seemed to gaze through their very souls, their eyes slightly narrowed as they stepped through the portal. Able followed close behind, resting his hand on the pommel of the short sword at his hip. Ivisyre looked around the surroundings with a raised eyebrow. “Allies are always nice, but I cannot help but think you may be getting distracted,” Ivisyre said. “I simply ask that you help me onto Sequence’s world, Ryver, in exchange for Conflict. Is that something you need this ally for? If you have more…” They stared at Subversion for a moment before looking back to Ryver. “Pressing matters to attend to… I will gladly find help elsewhere.”

As they spoke, Ivisyre idly took the sphere from their cloak, and some black mist flowered from their heart into the orb. It glowed softly, and the nearly imperceptible cracks Ryver had placed glowed with crimson light… And then sealed. Ivisyre was not incompetent. They smiled fondly at the orb, tucking it back into their cloak.

Subversion happily did not point out that she'd merely promised that Ryver's favor would not involve harm to his planet, not that she herself would avoid harming it.

"For the former, how exactly does the jamming work? Can gold compounding keep you alive there?" Named paused. "The latter sounds a bit like one of Sandy's powers: Entropy manipulation, one of the first he gained access to, long before quantum tunneling."

The Trisolarans have really advanced tech. In some ways, more advanced than yours. They have mastered 9 of the 10 spatial dimensions and can create AI protons (yes, protons) known as sophons. They do this by converting the proton to 2 dimensions, wrapping it around their planet (yes, a proton becomes that big) and putting all their advanced circuits into it, before folding it back up into 10D.

They're usually created in quantum entangled pairs, which means that if you have one, you can communicate FTL with however has the other.

Ryver glanced between the two of them, noting that Ivisyre had seemed to repair the orb. Huh. He'd thought that if Ivisyre had needed someone to make it, then he couldn't manipulate it himself. Seemed he was wrong. Oh well.

"For one thing, Ivisyre, Subversion seems to think we need backup and she also seems to know how the last fight went. For another, I've met Sequence, and even the ability to appear in many places at once is one that is very hard to fight without some form of Area of Effect damage, to hit multiple enemies. That over there is another of my author's people, though barely Thread aware and not author aware at all." He looked at Subversion again and tried to send her a message the way she had sent him one, though he wasn't quite sure how to do it or if he had done it right. "He also has a very unusual narrationblade."

"And on top of all that, Ivisyre, if you are banned from Sequence's world, and if you spent any great amount of time in that world we just came from, do you not think it might be wise to take a long way around as it were, popping through a few different worlds so it doesn't look like we just went from yours to hers?"

Sequence is too soft to expect me to come back, so I’m not worried about the element of surprise either.” Ivisyre looked out towards the figure again, squinting. “You’re right. It didn’t go well.” They turned their gaze back to Subversion and Ryver, eyes narrowed slightly. “And you think that this Narrator,” they started, assuming that the possession of a Narrationblade would indicate a Narrator, “would willingly join me in fighting another Narrator in a conflict they have nothing to do with? I don’t have any payment for them. Just you, Ryver, for the mere task of bringing me to Sequence’s World.” Ivisyre was very skeptical of this detour Ryver was taking, and it showed with their questions and expression.

Wait, what's this guy's name again?

"His name," Ryver hesitated, "Is Cadewyn."

"Now, you all stay back." He waved them all back, "I'll go talk to him."

Ryver walked along the back of the turtle toward Cadewyn and Eepy. "Hey there! Cadewyn! I need your help." The man whipped around, one hand going to the sword on his back, blue light trailing from his left draconian eye. "And I can bring you to a place with enough ambient power to swear your oath and transform. Yes, I know about Emberlings. Yes, I support you in your cause."

Cadewyn tucked Eepy behind him, clinging to the back of his coat. "What do you mean 'ambient power' this is normal!?"

"Oh come on! You've felt it here! There is less energy in the air, less motion. Too little for you to change. You know what I mean!"

Cadewyn hesitated. He did know what this stranger meant. He had been waiting till the right moment, but this place was wrong. "...Fine. It is. What do you want of me?"

"I want your blade, Cadewyn. The one called Resolution, that you wear. I want your help in a fight." He stepped close and whispered, so the others couldn't hear, "and I want you to help me take down a slimy power hungry person, bent on revenge. I hear you're good at that. I need fire."

"Can you promise Eepy won't be harmed?"

"After the transformation, her scales will be as hard as adamant, right? I think she'll be ok."

"Very well." Cadewyn clasped Ryver's hand. "And what is your name? You seem to know mine."

"I go by Ryver. But I am also called–" he leaned in a barely whispered, "Nikkō." The sunlight wavered around them and his hair glowed.

Fire flared in Cadewyn at that name. He shivered. "Ok. Let's go."

"This world of his sounds very interesting, doesn't it? Perhaps I should go visit it someday."

"Yeah right." Unintelligible scoffed. "Look, if you're not going to throw it in the furnace, then I will." He reached to grab the rabbit's cage. "No reward is going to convince this thing to talk. It's too afraid of whoever that mysterious master of theirs was."

Sequence looked at Unintelligible. Something in her eyes looked like she wanted to agree with him, but she forced a frown onto her face. "Well, lets at least give it a chance to speak before we do anything rash!" She turned back to the rabbit with an expectant look.

Well damn. Looked like it was hard to keep secrets from Ivisyre.

"I have something that he wants. I learned a lot from that bit of metal you gave me. Also, he's not a narrator, and doesn't know he has a narrationblade. Either way, you asked me for help and I am giving it."

"Ok. Let's go."

Subversion leaned closer to Ivisyre. "How does one have a Narrationblade without being a Narrator? And he doesn't even know it's a Narrationblade? That seems... very odd." As Ryver convinced Cadewyn to help him defeat Ivisyre, Subversion's eyes widened slightly. Oh dear, I do hope he survives this attempted betrayal. She glanced at Ivisyre, hoping the 'slimy power hungry person' in question hadn't been eavesdropping like she had. "This world of his sounds very interesting, doesn't it? Perhaps I should go visit it someday."

@Sequence

Ivisyre watched the exchange from afar, an amused smile tugging at their lips. "What happens to a Narrationblade after its Narrator dies? I would assume it vanishes, but..." They looked thoughtful. "I guess it must be possible to preserve it somehow. How one would do such a thing without even realizing the nature of the blade they have is beyond me." They brought out their orb again. It glowed much brighter now. Ivisyre closed their eyes, and black mist snaked from the orb into their heart, and then returned to the orb. It glowed a bit brighter as they tucked it into their pocket. "Perhaps I should too. Leads one to wonder if such a powerful place can be consumed," they mused.

Ok, quick question, because it is taking me forever to find it in the thread. Is there a wiki for tlt or something? I feel like I should get more info before proceeding.

There actually is, I discovered recently, but it doesn't have any info on mechanics :D. If you're worried about the plausibility of a Narrationblade being in the hands of a non-Narrator, make something up! Maybe a Narrator long ago gave their blade to this person, or anything else you like. The "rules" of TLT's nature are not as strict as you might think! We're all just here to have fun :P.

I was wondering actually about the restrictions on plotblades...

Ooohh, that's a slightly trickier subject... Xino knows the most about Plotblades, but I don't see why you couldn't bring a new one into existence as long as it fits the general mold of what Plotblades do! You could probably ask Nameless too, he knows a lot of things.

Ok, thanks!

@NameIess would it be ok to bring a new plotblade into existence?

Here's the wiki: https://thelongestthread.fandom.com/wiki/The_Longest_Thread_Wiki

It's not very complete, but we do out best. If you are looking for mechanics, then I recommend checking out these:

These explain some of the mechanics of TLT, but not much on Plotblades, if that's what you're looking for in specific.

The rabbit looked from Unintelligible to Sequence, then back again. Finally, hesitantly, it spoke.

”We… will not be controlled. We will not be used. We will feast!”

It fell silent. Then, in a very quiet mental voice, it continued.

”You will… not take me back to him?”

Subversion felt another one of those odd guilty twinges again. Stupid conscience. “Yes, but perhaps after your business with Sequence is concluded, yes?”

Yep! Generally they’re found on a quest, but you can also just pop a character into the story with a Plotblade.

Ryver and Cadewyn walked back to the group at the other end of the turtle's shell, Eepy (A tiny Emerald green dragon) on Cadewyn's shoulder.

"You think we can just go from here to Sequence's world, Everyone?" he looked Ivisyre dead in the eyes. He wasn't the only one that could acquire secrets. Even if Ryver had been handed that one.

“How are you planning to do this?” Subversion asked. “Ivisyre is quite dangerous, especially with that sphere you remade.”

“No clue! It’s possible, but I have very little knowledge about the specifics of Ivisyre’s powers.”
