“Perhaps I am a fool, then. But I suspect you’ve underestimated my preparations - because I do not need to control the Witherlord, I merely need to know what it will do.” There was a light in Rebus’s eyes - an alarming blend of cunning and conviction somewhere between genius and madness. “I will con myself - for Antagonist brings an inevitable downfall, should Protagonist arise. I am unaffected by the hubris it brings-“ Rebus appeared not to notice the hypocrisy of that statement, given his ability to even speak it. “-but should I need to resist a second force on my personality I will be unable to counteract the Blade, allowing me to undermine my own plans and bring about one of the outcomes I desire.”

Rebus spread his arms wide, a grin on his face. Then he snapped back to the expression he had begun the conversation with - the polite smile with an edge of eagerness - and continued talking calmly as if he hadn’t dramatically declared his frankly ludicrous plan. “Regardless of my own desires, I literally cannot stop trying to do this without incurring dire consequences. I truly don’t know what will happen should I break my Word, and Fate is not someone I want to break a contract with.” Rebus tossed the orb containing his plans from one hand to the other. “Your opposition I would welcome - your string of betrayals from so long ago was truly impressive, and I have been seeking someone to match wits with. As for our deal, you’ve severely reduced how much it would benefit me - as much as you wish to rule the Thread, I am not certain you care about its activity level. And you certainly do not care about Symbol or the spread of my variants. We may both be evil, but evilness is broad and vague - I have chosen to become a villain to benefit the Thread, whereas you have chosen to benefit the Thread to further your villainy.”

Somebody needs to steal that orb.

I somehow have managed to get BOTH animations done before the one drawing 😭 (I had a bunch of free time in art class and I spent 90 percent of yesterday afternoon drawing.) Buuuut they are on my other phone and not done being edited yet so.

“Interesting…” Rebus said, a sly smile on his face. “In that case, perhaps you could help me. As you may know, the Lost Page contains the instructions to summon the Witherlord, and is currently locked away within a vault built by Cricket, Sequence, Malevolence, and Bacon.”

Erdikan stood in the shadows, listening and observing the party. After a while he frowned and began pacing. Many of these interactions were not going as he had hoped, and he itched to do something about it. He had been told not to get involved. But they had all sworn to peace here, so surely there were no ramifications that couldn't be dealt with. Surely he could help, at least a little bit.

Yes, that's what he would do. So long as all went well, the others would agree with his decision. That was how they worked; they couldn't afford to punish people for doing what they thought best. His mind made, Erdikan glanced around, then approached            and Rebus, who were presumably also with Erryin.

"As have I," he said. "I'm not certain you want to do that."

The contents of the drawers seem rather varied, from various stones and indescribable materials to full pages of paper and small dolls.

"Of course!" Ivisyre looked delighted that Ryver made no argument. "I have no intention on harming anybody who doesn't deserve it. And once again, your homeworld is of little concern to me." They stood up, brushing off their cloak. "In order to get me there, you will need to experiment with portals. I am unable to be transported directly there, as I am banished."

Ryver dismissed the hearing line he'd made, hoping Subversion had heard him.

"Ok, how do I make a portal? And do you have a route in mind, or should I guess at other world to hop through before we get to Sequence's?"

Ivisyre shrugged. "I suppose you will have to figure that out. I don't know how your abilities will manifest after ingesting that shard, though it should be just as natural as it is for Narrators... I would imagine."

"I don't know! Inhale it as dust? Usually if you need to absorb power you simply place the thing between yourself and the sun and breathe in the sunlight and it just... goes in?" He tried it, holding the shard up to the light and sucking in a bit more, his body almost burning with the light.

Ryver sighed and pushed on the light the same way he did to heal himself. And the lump of metal burned.

Power flooded through him, through his veins, his hair, his skin.

Ok, now i need to know what exactly narrators can do to figure out how he does it, whatever it is.

They just sorta do, that's the Narrator style is to just do things. It's like breathing, just second nature and effortless. So for having a Narrator-like ability to travel, Ryver could just appear wherever he'd like, or open portals to wherever he'd like, and have an innate knowledge of the many locations of the Thread in the same way that you, his author, could just look at posts made on this website. It's up to you how well he's able to utilize it I suppose, and the nature of the power is flexible, so you could also decide how it meshes or works with other powers... Or whether it even works at all! That sorta deal :P.

Knowledge flooded Ryver's mind. Story after story, images of places he didn't remember. It was like another being's memories were being loaned to him. If felt... vast.

"Damn. That's... A lot." he turned to the side and pulled apart a window in the air to another land, one where their was a huge Ocean, with a dot of an island getting closer. "We should go here first. I think we'll find an ally there." He waved Ivisyre and Subversion through the portal. @NameIess

Ivisyre raised an eyebrow, still grinning. "Oh? An ally in what goal?"

Able leaned forward, peering through the portal to examine the new world.

Sequence looked between the rabbit and Unintelligible. "... I'll be good cop," she said quietly.

Ivisyre narrowed their eyes, watching Subversion closely. If you insist.

"Conflict is not a mere Narrationblade, like the one she holds," Ivisyre said, gesturing to Subversion. "Conflict is arguably more powerful. It grows in power and grants the wielder abilities to fairly face off against their opponent. It's quite handy, really." Ivisyre smiled, leaning forward. "Sequence has it. And I'm going to kill her. Help me to her world, and the blade is yours."

“Great!” Unintelligible whispered. Then, in a voice raised just enough for the rabbit to overhear, he continued. “Look, if that thing doesn’t start talking soon, we’d be better off just disposing of it.”

Oh, I do.

"...I can help you get there, so long as you promise not to harm anyone else, or my homeworld."

He flicked his eyes back to Subversion's. He probably could get her alone to talk so... that might work.

He sent a thin, near invisible, line of his conjured material from his jaw down his back and across the ground, then up Subversion's back and to the skull just behind her ear. As he covered his face to cough, he whispered, "talk to me, secret from him." Hoping the vibrations would carry along the line well enough to be heard.

Subversion could perhaps have interpreted the vibrations, if she was a computer able to screen out all the background noise and distortion caused by the unusual method of sound travel. Fortunately, she could simply read the intended message from the fabric of reality.

A voice spoke in Ryver’s mind.

”I saw what you did with the orb. Very clever. You wouldn’t happen to have been listening in to me and Everyone’s conversation earlier, would you?”

Jack looked at him like he was insane. “What are you talking about? We are the only ones here.” Of course, it seemed that wasn’t quite the way Lyric saw it.
Malevolence was right, perhaps, but he was also wrong. For Rebus planned not merely to con himself, but to con himself into conning himself. Surely his plans were infallible, for he planned to plan to fail, and if his plans to fail failed, then he would have succeeded. Rebus took a bow in front of the blank screen, his face nearly the same as Malevolence’s had been when the call was ended.

Lyric looked back at Jack, eyes unfocused. “What did you say?” He asked loudly. “I can’t hear you over the crowd!”

"I see. So Ivisyre isn't even his name. I knew he was slime. As to the blades, then if what you summoned was a narrationblade then yes, I would say my world has some. Let me remind you you promised not to harm my planet."

He lead them through the portal to the back of a giant turtle, with a man and a tiny dragon standing on its back. "I have communicated with my author before," he spat to the side, "bastard that he is." @Sequence we gone through the portal.

@Through The Living Glass mind if I steal Cadewyn and Eepy back from your world? I got Haly's permission for Eepy already.
