"No, not from where I came before the party." He shook his head. "I... Have memories of a world, where stories mattered and we knew about authors. I could have sworn that I was there until yesterday." Ryver glanced around the room, trying to take in some of what was happening. "Do you think that my world is part of the Thread that doesn't know it is? Does that happen?"

Is it Ok for me to get Ryver involved with the other characters at the party? I'm still unsure of the system of this thread and etiquette. Sorry.

Sequence tilted her head again, seeming deep in thought. "I suppose... Whether or not you can go back is the decision of your Author. I've known a few other places that are outside the Thread, but also... not outside the Thread. I don't know much, unfortunately." Sequence rubbed her temples. "Gosh, I wish Nameless were still around. He was much older than I, and much better with questions like this... Perhaps you'd like to speak to Moniker. She shares a lot of his knowledge, I think."

Absolutely! For the most part, you're welcome to join and involve yourself with whatever you'd like! Sometimes you can just have a character appear somewhere conveniently :DThere are some places that are typically supposed to be inaccessible without special means, like the Dreamsmith's workshop, the Dreamscape, and other such places, but other than that, most things are free rein!

Ok thanks!

"Thank you for telling me what you know." he bowed.

Ryver glanced over at an angry looking man surrounded by dark lightning (Cricket, I think), and a smug looking man (Rebus). "Who are those two? They look... Dangerous." He shivered.

Sequence nodded, frowning at the pair. There was also another Sequence standing over near them. Sequence seemed to be in multiple places at once. "They are. I consider them both friends, but the one in the brown coat, Rebus, has some... troubling goals. Cricket is a nice fellow though. I believe he's an Enuller! Could be worth it speaking to him, as Enullers tend to be rather well versed in Thread mechanics!"

"Ok!" he hesitated. "Should I... wait? He seems really angry right now." Sequence being in multiple places didn't bother Ryver, he has seen people with a form of shadow-cloning magic before. "Also, Enuller?"

Gosh, I don't know nearly as much about these things as I should, but as I understand it, Enullers are beings whose job is to keep Narrators in check, essentially. They keep us within the Thread, and... I think they will intervene if one of us gets out of hand? I can't say for sure, as I've never really seen it happen myself."

Generally you can do whatever you feel like, but you should ask before doing things like entering someone else's plot or making a particularly momentous decision like killing someone else's character. At a place like the party, you can go interact with anyone you want who's there; that's one of the main reasons that Authors brought characters to the party in the first place.

Sequence visibly relaxed, letting out a big sigh of relief. She reached into her bag again, getting a small cloth. She doused it in hot water from one of many floating tea kettles, letting it cool a bit before gently dabbing at the wound. "You 'guess'??" She asked, looking at him incredulously, spreading a little bit of antibacterial ointment on the wound before gently pressing an adhesive bandage over it. "You're not invincible, you know..." She said, shaking her head and leaning back on her stool, wiping her hands on the cloth.

"I know I'm not invincible." Unintelligible muttered petulantly. "But it was just a tiny scratch! I've survived far worse injuries." He stood up shakily, face still grey.  "Although... admittedly those wounds were not from a wither-rabbit."

On Ryver's way over, Subversion appeared in front of him. She had finally decided to show up at the party, definitely because so many important people were there and definitely not because with a certain Author being active again, there was a chance that someone in particular might show up as well. Not that this was relevant to Ryver, since he'd never met Subversion before and so neither he nor his Author would have any context for the nonsensical ramblings of the previous sentence, even if Ryver had been capable of knowing of its existence.

Indeed, all Ryver knew was that a woman with black hair and silver eyes had appeared in front of him, wearing a pure black dress. She stared at him imperiously. "Hello Ryver. Welcome to the Thread. Before you speak to Cricket, allow me to inform you that he is not actually affiliated with the Ennuller organization, so his insight into their rules will be limited."

"Um. Ok." he nodded to her, "Who are you? How do you know my name." He glanced past her at Cricket. He still looked mad, so he thought he could get him more tea later. "Would you like some tea?" He offered her one of the cups.

"I'm Subversion, a Narrator. And yes, I'll take tea." the teacup disappeared from Ryver's hand and appeared in Subversion's. She took a sip delicately. "Delicious. Well, it was nice meeting you Ryver. I do hope you have a good time here." She wandered off.

Ryver looked after Subversion, slightly confused. Oh well, she had seemed nice enough. And Cricket still looked like he needed some tea. Tea was good.

He got another cup of tea and approached Cricket, waiting at a respectful distance to be noticed. @TwinStorm

Currently you're nowhere that anyone else is, in an unestablished place other than there being a river, so you can have it be literally anywhere you want.

Within Bacon’s hat was a device, about the shape and size of an egg. Rebus’s motifs - seams with glowing light, black and white color schemes, futuristic shapes - were evident in its design, for in fact Bacon had accepted it willingly from Rebus many pages prior. It was a teleportation beacon, given so Bacon could get help from Rebus if his Narration was impaired - and hence kept in the background via Narration until such an effect afflicted him.
