Well technically the amount of murderers hasn’t gone down. Unless. The murderer kills other murderers and then it decreases and that’s how to justify murder

Depends on your definition of justice. I—and more importantly my character—prefer eye-for-an-eye justice

True, the muderers take a life. Many in fact. You (in this case accidently killed someone or killed them for revenge) are labeled as a murderer regardless. So, the best thing to do is go after other killers (who kill a lot like mass murderers and people who kill with no remorse) and kill them

Or, y'know, just stop murdering people

"I see... I guess I must clarify..." Vigo tilts his head up to look up at the ceiling and sighs. "Justice has both sides of the scale satisfied." He then looks back to Fas. "My side of the scale is far too heavy."

The false Dreamsmith, unable to think of a sufficient lie, decided to at least mostly tell the truth. “You were gone; I was supposed to impersonate you. I made a few people items.”

The Dreamsmith's eyes narrow. He takes a step forward, perhaps unconsciously. "Who?"

Remembrance continues eating the corpse. “Let us start” God Killer said, going through the portal with Rememberance.

The portal opens up to a dark cavern filled with a horde of unspeakable creatures of the night.

"In my experience, the best way to learn is through trial and error!" Subversion's voice said cheerily. "If you bond closely enough with that Blade, you should be able to make it manifest in any form you desire. It will also give you all sorts of powers related to Impossible Odds, not just those that my Author interpreted as appropriate."

The unspeakable creatures of the night seemed shocked that someone had been foolish enough to enter their cavern so quickly, but they were quickly getting over it.

"I'd say good luck, but well... you already have as much as you need. Have fun!"

Cricket stood on the edge of a cliff, mentally preparing himself for what came next. He didn't want to do this, but it had to be done. "Malevolence!" he called out. "I want to talk."

@NameIess

Malevolence appeared in a crackle of lightning. He wore a white suit contrasted by the black sword at his hip, and his eyes had lost much of their haunted look from earlier. There was still a certain unstable look to him, however. His jaw was clenched, his posture stiff, voice carefully controlled.

"Cricket. You wish to oppose Rebus's insane plan, I take it?"

Flower stops walking. It had been days since she started on this journey with her two companions but they were here she wasn’t sure where here was but it was important. The three travelers stood before a massive tree in the middle of a desert that formed a perfect circle and outside that perfect circle there was jungle. Flower stopped and sat at the root of the tree unsure what to do. After a minute she hears a voice based on the gasps around her the others do as well but she assumes theirs are different

"Hey, Love." Cricket sighed. He didn't want to side with him, but he didn't have much choice. "I don't really have much of a say in the matter. My wishes? More like my Author's bidding."

Cricket paled visibly, memories racing through his head. Memories of a night in the mist, fighting withergeists. "I'll do it." he said quietly, steeling himself. "But we need to make a pact. Two of the most powerful men left on the Thread. Under no circumstances will we let Rebus summon the Witherlord."

Malevolence smiled thinly. "And so we work together again. I agree to this, Cricket. I can only hope we will be as successful in this venture as we were last time."

Meanwhile a rebellion against Rebus was brewing. Well, brewing was perhaps a bad term for it. Boiling over would be more accurate.

"DOWN WITH THE VILE SCUM OF THE EARTH!" Bellowed the resistance's leader. "DOWN WITH THE TYRANT, THE DESTROYER OF LOVE!" His followers cheered heartily, raising pitchforks and torches. "I WILL NOT REST UNTIL THAT MOST VILE BEING HAS BEEN UTTERLY DESTROYED, UNTIL HE RESIDES IN THE LOWEST PITS OF HELL THAT ARE HIS END!"

Vigo picks the knight up and spins it in his fingers before setting it down with a satisfying snap as the glass piece connects with the surface of the board. e5 knight to c4.

He then looks up at Fas and pulls out a scroll of sorts. He begins to unravel it.

"Don't let me interrupt your turn, but..." He lays the paper out. It's a bounty. "Have you heard of someone with the vile name of 'Rebus', my friend?"

God Slayer quickly readied Rememberance. He knew exactly what he could do with this. Rememberance, originally a dark red sword, gained a gold trim. The dice disappeared from his hand, and symbols appeared on the blade.

Fire. Light. Good. Very malleable topics. His sword burned and burned bright, shedding light on the creatures of the night. He quickly waved his sword, spreading the extra bright fire all across the room and showing that these creatures were not as daunting as they may seem. After all, Impossible Odds can go either way.

Well this will be interesting. Before I try this, would Cep be able to pull Malevolence into his mindscape, or can Malevolence somehow resist that?

And I acknowledge that. However, it is completely useless to complain. Life's not about pain, it's about...something else.
