"If you weren't trying to kill me, I would like you." he said, then applied all the extra mental processing to her nanomachines, increasing in capacity with every success.

All Rebus could feel from Axzi was sorrow and grief, and a sense of betrayed despair, an old wound not yet healed.

Even the little sprite seemed somber, flitting in front of Rebus’ eyes and poking him lethargically.

Cool lore, if somebody gives in to the despair, they become one of the phantoms

Rebus was on two levels, one still trapped in terrible limbo while the other - an emulation of his personality - continued to be present. He waited, both versions of him patent and resolute. 

Fun! Good thing you have to do the first two trials to get the this point, or there would be some really big problems. 

Remind me what the sprite was? Are you referring to Mischief?

A light appears, and the Scribe walks out. “I am sorry. Aeon has broken my rules. Consider this battle forfeit.”

He kneels, and Aeon dissapears.

The next lines are mostly just monolauge and if you want oyk to react sure but not necessarily. Its just what happens to her at night for an FYI

So were the personality emulations of the utility fog. They chittered among themselves, glad that having though about thinking about pretzels hadn't gotten them caught. 

Eventually, Lezterp left working on the machine again, and turned it on while it was gone. It looked like it would be a while before he got back.
