He took the torch and began to work. 

The footsteps grew louder and Symbol descended the stairs, carrying a torch of her own and wearing a light tan traveling dress like you might see in a movie set in the past. Her face tightened upon seeing another human, but smoothed into confusion when she saw it was him. “Rebus?”

Even through Shoe had poured out the cola, there was more to be found. There were also energy drinks. 
Rebus smiled at Symbol. “I did tell you I’d come with you if I could.”
