“I agree completely - hence my technology.” Rebus paused, and after a second Symbol’s ability to teleport returned. “Shall we begin?”
The laser guessed it was meant to blind and distract, and sent a fairly bright beam of light at the dragon, causing it to crash into the ground.
Heir shrugged. “I suppose I set myself up for that. Anyway, I’m learning about mollusks in biology, so I made the thing a cross between a nautilus and a generic scary flying thing. I might reuse them, actually.”
“Another nemesis… I’m blanking on relevant targets, but I do know of a spirit of pure evil you can capture to gain strength.”
“We can return them for a cameo at some point, I suppose. I wonder if there’s a Middles…”

She nodded and teleported both of them into the middle of a sunny copse in a forest.

It was actually supposed to cut through the dragon. But Rose supposed that would be kinda violent. She ran for the dragon.

“Cool!”

”Huh. Okay.”

”Probably is. Maybe not in the form of a Plotblade, though.”

"Hmph. Let's make a character to terrify."

-

He happily kissed her back.

Hehe. Love you.

-

Eat what I want, she grumbled, eating more marshmallow-rabbit.

“That’s mean!”

-

“I love you too.”

-

Bat sighed, then shook his head.

"Yeah, but it's also the whole reason I came here! So bleh, there!"

-

He wrapped an arm around her and continued eating, careful not to squish Livetha's tail or anything.

-

What? she laughed.

“Can the character be made of glass? I kinda wanna break something.” Haly sullenly threw a metal horseshoe at a vase and missed.

-

Livetha helped him eat. She was very good at it.

-

“You’re gonna get sick.”

"Uhhhhhh sure."

The vase grew legs and started running in circles.

-

. . . Can stoats even eat this stuff?

-

Hmph. Then I'll just un-sick myself.

She pinched his ankle and giggled.

Haly growled and threw a horseshoe. It hit the vase, shattering it into a thousand pieces.

-

“Livetha’s special.”

The stoat squeaked in outrage and gently bit Beosta’s ear.

-

He dropped a handful of sand on her.

That was obvious already, he added slyly.

"EEP!"

She dug herself out and poked him. Hey!

This was a very nice development. Haly hurled more horseshoes.

Livetha was even more outraged and wrapped herself around his head.

-

He laughed very hard. “I’ve never heard that sound from a crab,” he gasped. “Oh, gosh.”

Many of them broke, making even more vases until the area was completely overrun.

-

He laughed and pet her softly.

-

She would have blushed if she could have.

What!? What's wrong!? she asked, looking around wildly.

That made Haly mad, because it felt good to be mad, so she dropped huge weights everywhere with here Authority.

-

She forgave him as soon as he pet her and settled on his shoulders.

-

He was still laughing. “You said— you went EEP!”

Glass hugged her from behind, sad.

He continued to pet her head and eat at the same time.

Well, the morning's off to a pretty good start, don't you think?

-

She glowered at him and tried to keep herself from laughing along.

Haly stopped.

“Sorry.”

-

Beosta agreed. “We should see if there’s any transit. Trains or buses or something.”

-

The sight of a glowering crab made him laugh harder.

"No, no, it's okay. You can keep going. I'm just sad that you're angry and sad."

She swayed back and forth a little.

-

He nodded.

Where would you want to go?

He thought for a moment.

Also . . . where'd Keys go?

-

"Stop it!" she snorted, trying to hold her laughter in.

"Hmm? What are we plotting?" Glass chimed in, holding several stoats.

“Not too much at the moment - I went overboard with some worldbuilding, but that’s basically it. If you want to plot something, though, that’d be fun.” Heir rearranged some vases, stacking them into a tower.

Rebus smiled, looking around and waiting for context.
Rose knew from experience that would have worked, and also knew that aiming for the center of her enemy would make it lethal, while the eye would set it to dazzle. The dragon shook itself, then sprung back into the air, swinging its tail - which had hooks and suckers on the end - at Rose.
“Do you want to go capture it? This one should be far faster.”
“That makes sense. Do you need anything, or just cathartic vase breaking? I’m here for you if you do.”

Oh... that's a good point. Scud....... I don't know where she is.

"I can't," he gasped through laughter-based tears.

Symbol took a deep breath of the early morning air and reached into a hollow tree, removing several small blue stones. They looked more like pieces of glass, actually. Two were shaped like marbles, and the others were pieces of a triangular design.

She jumped backward and pointed the laser at the dragon.

"Sure," Nemesis decided.

Haly shrugged. "I'm fine."
