She squeezed his and turned her head to smile at him.

She didn't fall asleep for a while, listening for noises.

He blushed, then grinned at her.

I love you, she said softly.

She fell asleep.

He scooted a little closer. I love you too, Tam.

So did the spider.

How nice.

She smiled and leaned her head against him.

This is nice.

Indeed.

He smiled too. It is. It's wonderful.

He chuckled and laid in the bed.

She smiled and laid back on the sand, motioning for him to do the same.

Why do we always end up sleeping on beaches?

"Heheh. Hi."

"Who are you, again?"

1 hour ago, Bird Furious said:

She shrugged. "Just talk. You haven't had much to do lately."

Me too

She searched hers for traps and got under the covers.

-

He did. "I dunno. But it's nice."

"Yeah. The Dreamsmith seems inactive. Speaking of which, where's Rose?"

"Oh, Rose? She's in a vision. And... I hesitate to eject her," she sighed. "But... hmm. Maybe if you convince me."

Shoe woke up the next morning, having slept quite well.

Morning, he muttered quietly with his eyes closed, unsure if Beosta was awake.

-

She nodded.

I . . . I like not having to worry about a million different things at once. Or running for our lives . . . it's nice to have a bit of a break.

"I say we give it a few more days, personally. I'm sure Heir will come back. Alternately you could make an identical copy of her and merge the two back together when the original comes out of the vision, if you're feeling morally ambiguous."

“Of course.” Symbol smiled thoughtfully at the landscape.

The dog grabbed a pastry in his mouth, then carried it to the construct, wagging so hard he looked in danger of falling over.

Rose decided to run that way.

Nemesis chanted some words in a garbled-sounding language and reached into the dragon with deep scarlet fire. He used it to extract something small and glowing blue. The dragon fell over, basically dead.

Rebus’s face became grim. “I just spent four days in limbo. The weak point here isn’t going to be the moon.”
The construct knelt down and patted it again, then tore the pastry in half, and offered part of it to the dog. The baker surreptitiously made sure that everything in the pastry could be eaten by canines.
Rose found she could run with little fatigue, probably outpacing an ordinary person. She also remembered that there was supposed to be a dragon around.

The dragon was basically dead anyway, but some of its flesh floated over to the tap shoes, reconstructing Meat’s body.

“I suppose you would have been more startled if I hadn’t already told you I was back.” Heir shrugged, looking around and trying to determine what was going on from only one post. “Anyway, have I missed anything important?”

". . . Nothing that you need to know about, I suppose. Nameless hasn't come, back so Cricket's out . . . and is actually right here where Haly and I were talking right before you arrived."

Symbol shivered. "That was... not enjoyable for me." Something flickered in the back of her head, and she frowned. That was a new sensation. She ignored it. It couldn't mean anything important... She frowned. "I'm sorry, what were we doing? I seem to have distracted myself."

The dog gobbled it happily and licked his hand.

She grinned and continued running, watching for signs of the dragon.

Nemesis grinned and clicked the teleporter again to go back to Keys. But she wasn't there anymore. Which miffed him.

"HIII! WE MISSED YOU! DO YOU WANT ANY FOOD???"

Heir nodded. “Thank you. I wonder how NameIess is doing - he’s been active, but hasn’t posted, so he’s probably just busy. Hello, Cricket. I’m Dragonheir, Author of Kion, Rebus, Template, Meat the Minstrel, and many others.” Heir put out his hand to shake. @TwinStorm

“I’d agree - I need to up my game.” Rebus and Symbol were slowly drifting away from Rebus’s moon in a futuristic elevator pod, planning to acquire something once they got outside the teleportation shielding.
The construct realized it didn’t have a mouth, and offered the other half to the dog as well. “Have a nice day!” called the baker.
It’d been seen stealing sheep and cows, then fleeing to the mountain, so it was probably up there somewhere. In fact, she could hear an echoing screech a little ways up.
Rebus was probably still around, but he wasn’t right where Nemesis had left him.
Heir nodded. “Hi! I missed you guys too, honestly. Sure, I’ll take something - cinnamon rolls, perhaps? I can Authority yesterday’s campfire into existence, so we can cook them.”

Haly took his hand instead and shook it vigorously. "Nice to meet you! Well, I mean, you know. Want some almonds? If you suck on them long enough, the skin comes off!"

Symbol was grateful for the reminder. "You know, if we wanted to really elevate our Author's interest, I can think of a couple experiments we could try." She raised an eyebrow slightly.

The dog happily ate this as well

She headed that way.

Nemesis went over. "Where's Keys?" She had, in fact, been taken to the forest with the bird people.

"Authority!" Haly clapped her hands. "I love that! Perfect term!!"

The door cracked open, and the woman peeked in. "I brought breakfast?"

He nodded too, then hugged her.

She handed her some almonds. "There!"

She brought in a tray and set it down on the coffee table. It was heaped high with eggs, waffles, toast, jam, butter, crepes, and way more than two people could eat. She beamed hopefully and bowed a little.

He happily fell asleep.

"Mm, thanks."

Shoe's eyes went wide.

Oh, um . . .

He got out his pad and pencil. It'd been a while since he'd had to use them, honestly.

How much is all this? he wrote.

Tam smiled and kissed him gently on the cheek, then stared up at the stars for a while before drifting off with her head on his chest.

Anyway, eventually the sun rose- yay!

Haly was glad she was happy.

The girl beamed. “Please, just enjoy it!”

Bat stayed asleep stubbornly. He didn’t want to wake up and have to let go of Tam.

Tam blinked groggily awake and smiled at him, thinking he looked very cute while he was asleep.

She snuggled into him and closed her eyes again, not wanting to get up until he did.

Shoe was munching on some eggs.

Morning. How'd you sleep?

She smiled tiredly and hugged him back.
