“You have anyone you know on that train?”

"That's it," she snapped, and then actually snapped.

"Congrats. You're now in love with the repulsive monkey outside."

Corysande didn't feel anything.

Yet.

“You can’t do that! That’s against the rules! Zeus, make her take it back!”

HAH

Literally

Alright.

She hugged him one last time, then stood and brushed herself off while simultaneously trying to forget about the weird voice Bat'd heard.

@Dragonheir Machination time, whenever you're ready :D

She felt awkward.

"It's fine. We only met a couple hours ago, I guess."

"I can't make her do anything, Corysande," he rumbled. "You'll have to take it up with her."

She scowled and turned to Aphrodite. “Which one should I kill first, hmm? Iphaceus?” She drew a thread that was his favorite color.

Aphrodite smirked. "Why? It doesn't affect your ability to do your job. We're gods, girl. I will make an example of you."

He stood too.

She shrugged. "Fine. Go ahead. I'll take that Drus away from you and let you pine if you threaten me one more time. I'll kill him if you touch any mortal."

She nodded. "I'm sorry. I should've warned you. This happens a lot. Enrik won't ever tell me anything. I wish I could stop it, but I-- I don't even know what it is."

Just now, Through The Living Glass said:

"This . . . happens often?"

"I mean... I-- well, y'know, every few weeks... but that's more than normal, right?"

"It's called Narcolepsy," he laughed.

"Oh," she said, smiling slightly. His laugh was reassuring. "And... it makes you... pass out? Every couple of hours?"

"Yeah. It's weird. You fall asleep at completely random times without warning."

"Really? Do you have any control over it?"

She tilted his head. "You're so... prideful. You really would make a perfect Antagonist."

"Perhaps I must take up that role." Nameless stroked his chin. "There seems to be precious little place for me in any of the plots ongoing otherwise."

2 hours ago, Dragonheir said:

“Exactly. Its nature would include combining things to create new things, so it’d be far easier to produce than the hypothetical balance of Light and Dark. Still, Balancium, Nameless’s medallion, or something similar would make this astronomically simpler, especially considering that it would require a quest.”

"Nameless' medallion... didn't the Dreamsmith have that?"

2 hours ago, Dragonheir said:

“Very well, then. I shall wait here.” He did so, fabricating a chair inside his bag and unfolding it to sit on.

As he sat, Rebel felt a faint jolting sensation. Then, suddenly, he felt a presence watching him. You... I did not notice you before now. Who are you hiding from? The voice that spoke in his head carried a regal air, words echoing with power.

45 minutes ago, TwinStorm said:

"That's . . ." he took a deep breath.  "Listen . . . I'm sorry. You shouldn't be here."

Lane sighed. What else could he do?

--

"Who are you, exactly?" Cricket thought.

"It's fine." Moni shrugged. "My Author... wants me to grow, I guess. So if you hadn't dragged me off on this quest, then he would have made someone else do it."

--

The king looked at each of the hunters in turn. "Very well. I believe your story." The pressure in the room vanished in an instant, and he walked back to his throne and sat down. "I will not surrender my crown to anyone. It is a sacred artifact. Take that message back to your master, if you can get out before the rifts seal shut and trap you here."

--

"Oh, my apologies for not introducing myself. I am the Dreamsmith."

Another ennuller stepped forward, extending his hand to project a force field in front of himself.

"Hm." Subversion exerted her will, commanding the Enuller to drop the shield and do a handstand.

The wind blew some leaves into a shape resembling a thumbs-up.

Her face darkened. “It’s my job to meddle in mortal affairs, Aphrodite. And if a few of your imbecile lovers are affected by that, so be it.” She let the Thread dissipate, though.

“It’s not my fault your fragile ego can’t take a few hits, and it’s not my job to keep you in line. I recommend you stay in your place so things don’t get nasty around here. Don’t forget I rub elbows with Hades.”

She narrowed her eyes.

"All right," she said. "He's mine." She snapped her fingers, and something crashed outside.

"Congratulations. You've doomed your Drus friend."

No, I'm not backing down on this :P
