You DO need a nickname though. What do you think we should call you? hmmmmm . . . Yeah - it's amusingly meta. Heir works, I suppose. It's fairly distinctive, and not too hard to say or write.

"It is . . . until all the Dryads decide that it's funny to prune you while you're asleep." He rolled his eyes. "That was just embarrassing." Corysande tilted her head, then giggled.

Bird Furious she/her/un/important Posted March 1, 2025 Posted March 1, 2025 38 minutes ago, Through The Living Glass said: She cringed, feeling guilty. I've been putting you through way too much lately, she said quietly. He shrugged and squeezed her. 36 minutes ago, Dragonheir said: “Alright - I’ll get to that.” Rebus teleported Atredies’s body to the lab. Rebus nodded. “You’ve seen what my trolley here can do; the entire place is like that, reconfiguring on a whim.” A young man, also around sixteen, appeared in the vaguely defined location. He looked a lot like Rebus, actually; fairly dark brown hair, relatively tall, light skin, lean muscles. But he had glasses, normal hiking clothes, and was much more average looking than Rebus presented himself. He was also on his phone, writing his actions down. “Hi guys! I made an over-the-top avatar like the one Haly had been using, but we don’t seem to be doing that right now.” Rebus raised an eyebrow. “Perhaps, though you already have two versions of Symbol and two versions of Bat to work with.” The Author-with-no-established-nickname nodded slightly. “It could be interesting; what are you thinking?” In the blink of an eye, Rebus was suddenly holding a cylinder he’d had clipped to his belt. In another nearly instant motion, he pointed it away from himself and the Authors, activating a blinding wave of light that left a hole in the nearby hill large enough to drive a car through. A wave of blistering heat and vaporized rock swept out of the new tunnel, which glowed too hot to look at. Force fields wrapped Rebus’s body and clothes, protecting him from the heat, pressure, and light. “Can he dodge this? Lasers move at the speed of light; you’d have to dodge while I was still getting the cylinder out or you’d be dead. Narration can make it never have happened, or let you react before it happens, but Ennullers need to predict it beforehand.” It’s fine; the other plotlines are currently more important anyway, though I think this is the same city the hunters are in. Rebel smiled slightly, pretending to take in the sights. I shall do my best to wait. The scientist shrugged. “As long as we get out home back.” - “HI!” Haly grinned and waved at Heir with both hands. “Welcome to the party!” - “True.” She shrugged. “I guess I could do some soul searching with Symbol, but… I dunno, she’s more of an extension of Rebus for now.” 24 minutes ago, echo74 said: "Who's your mistress?" “Oh, she’s looong dead.”

"How many times do I have to tell you! If the food's over a month old, throw it out!" Looking down at his stew, Regulus wondered what time last month the stew was from. It was possibly still safe. The woman was distracted, so he couldn't ask her. Perhaps... he poked the something with his spoon. It didn't look too bad all things considered... So lost in thought was he, that he missed what the man was saying. When he finally noticed the man, he blinked, looking up. "Hello? Sorry, did you say something? I missed it." The bartender eventually wandered her way back over to Regulus, and promptly frowned at him for poking at his stew. “If you ain’t gunna eat it, don’t poke it, you’ll anger it.”
