He smiled. “I’m glad.”

He realized that the group who had been experimenting on him and Five called themselves the Undervoices. One, Two, and Three were all dead, and Four, Six, Seven, and Nine were being held in a secret facility in Greenland.

Please what?

She shrugged. “Price of existing for me. I’m… shall we say, experimental.”

“Well, I don’t know much about them. I just know I love you.”

Well, this kinda seemed to be going in circles.

"Alright."

She climbed into the Jeep, waking Aden. He seemed quite confused by the burning ship and the noise and everything else happening. But once Five told him to drive, he didn't seem to care anymore. He moved Irie to the passenger seat (@Through The Living Glass) and stepped on the gas.

Thankfully for Aden, Irie was so deeply asleep that she didn't so much as stir when he moved her.

She blinked.

Maybe . . . maybe she shouldn't.

But she really wanted to-

But maybe Bat was right . . . it was kinda weird that she wanted to do it so badly . . .

She looked between him and the crystal for a moment, then tucked it back in her pocket.

. . . Sorry. Dunno what that was.

Sorry. That was selfish of me- I-I'll try not to do anything like that again.

Placing me into his corpse will work, if you can convince his Author to leave it with enough residual energy.

“Alright - I’ll get to that.” Rebus teleported Atredies’s body to the lab.

9 hours ago, Halcyon The Only said:

“We’re not leaving. At least not right away.”

“YOU SHOULD! COME DOWN WITH US!!”

“Smart,” Haly remarked. “Mmhmm. Very smart. You know what? I need a new character.”

Rebus nodded. “You’ve seen what my trolley here can do; the entire place is like that, reconfiguring on a whim.”

A young man, also around sixteen, appeared in the vaguely defined location. He looked a lot like Rebus, actually; fairly dark brown hair, relatively tall, light skin, lean muscles. But he had glasses, normal hiking clothes, and was much more average looking than Rebus presented himself. He was also on his phone, writing his actions down. “Hi guys! I made an over-the-top avatar like the one Haly had been using, but we don’t seem to be doing that right now.”
Rebus raised an eyebrow. “Perhaps, though you already have two versions of Symbol and two versions of Bat to work with.”
The Author-with-no-established-nickname nodded slightly. “It could be interesting; what are you thinking?”

8 hours ago, TwinStorm said:

"Oh, really? Why would you beat Cricket? He is an Enuller, specifically designed to kill Narrators."

In the blink of an eye, Rebus was suddenly holding a cylinder he’d had clipped to his belt. In another nearly instant motion, he pointed it away from himself and the Authors, activating a blinding wave of light that left a hole in the nearby hill large enough to drive a car through. A wave of blistering heat and vaporized rock swept out of the new tunnel, which glowed too hot to look at. Force fields wrapped Rebus’s body and clothes, protecting him from the heat, pressure, and light. “Can he dodge this? Lasers move at the speed of light; you’d have to dodge while I was still getting the cylinder out or you’d be dead. Narration can make it never have happened, or let you react before it happens, but Ennullers need to predict it beforehand.”

Forgot Rebel for a second, sorry.

Within the castle. The throne room, I believe. And there is no need to be so hasty. Watch and wait. An opportunity will present itself.

It’s fine; the other plotlines are currently more important anyway, though I think this is the same city the hunters are in.
Rebel smiled slightly, pretending to take in the sights. I shall do my best to wait.

And I've just been calling you Heir, so . . . :P

You DO need a nickname though. What do you think we should call you? 🤔

hmmmmm . . .
