Her head snapped down, but she just watched at the crystals curiously.

“I think you should get rid of them.. Tam, are you okay?”

She nodded and grabbed the white one, holding it up for him to see.

A sort of mist swirled inside, though it wasn't too noticeable unless it was looked at closely.

“So what does this make our relationship?” He asked, smiling

“Likability will give us both fighting chances. I may be fairly callous and manipulative, but I have understandable motives my Author has figured out, just like Cricket has both flaws and good traits, with a strong personality that grants him some autonomy. We’ll both have fairly well-defined powers on the high end of balanced, once I solidify my Narration into something more consistent. We both have character-driven goals, and people to accompany us as we try to accomplish them. In short, Cricket is your favorite, and I’m my Author’s favorite, though with the amount of power he gave me he’s refusing to give me actual plot armor. I’ll make it up in preparation, so it actually can make sense when I win.”

"Oh, really? Why would you beat Cricket? He is an Enuller, specifically designed to kill Narrators."

"Sounds good to me." Jacob waved to three hunters. "Lane, Barik, Organ. You're with me." He took to the air, cloak fluttering in the wind. "Let's get this over with and prove ourselves loyal." He flew towards the city, followed by the three other hunters.

"Great!" Subversion cracked her knuckles, preparing to Narrate. "Are you ready?" Before the young woman replied, she did an incredibly acrobatic flip, landing on one knee in front of another student whom she suddenly realized was much more handsome than she had ever given him credit for.

Subversion paused for a moment, waiting to see if her Narration would take hold.

Placing me into his corpse will work, if you can convince his Author to leave it with enough residual energy.

Authors have been directly involved in the story before (occasionally, in highly limited ways). Fate has been around since before I joined, I think. But I wouldn't say the tier list goes quite in a straight line from character->Narrator->Author. It's more 'normal' character->Narrator/Enuller/bonded withergeist->Higher tier characters like the Witherlord or Plot before he was vanquished->Author

And there is a distinction in the power levels between individuals in a certain category, depending on experience and a number of other factors, particularly in the character division. Some characters like Malevolence, for example, have quite a bit more power than that 'tier list' would have you believe. And Plotblades muddle things even more.

I suppose you do have the right to make whatever bad decisions you choose.

Simon nodded to the rest of his men, who took off in turn.

Lane followed behind Jacob. He had vowed to serve Malan, and now Malevolence, and would follow them to the death.

Rebel smiled, slowly following the guards. Good - where? I was thinking there’d be at least a few corrupt guards, but if needed I can kill these two en-route.

Forgot Rebel for a second, sorry.

Within the castle. The throne room, I believe. And there is no need to be so hasty. Watch and wait. An opportunity will present itself.

Jacob flew high over the city wall, blending in with the night sky. He swooped down lower over the city, confident that no sentries would have been able to spot him. His confidence continued right up until an unseen force ripped his cloak away, sending him plummeting into a rooftop some thirty feet below. Easy job eh? He hit with a loud *crack* and skidded down the sloped wooden roof, barely grabbing hold of the edge before he tumbled to the uneven paving stones of the street below. I suppose I always am a bit too hopeful.

Well, yeah, I know I should probably get rid of it, but listen to it . . .

There was a very faint sound like rushing wind being emitted from the little crystal.

“We’re not leaving. At least not right away.”

Bat was very perturbed.

He kept hold of her hand.

She rose onto her tiptoes and softly kissed his lips.

“Of course… I love you, I think.”

Beyond the people Utility already found, there were none.

She nipped his ear, then stared at him intently before tapping his axe with her claw.

YESMARRIED

She took a deep breath and nodded. “Yes. That.”

-

She tilted her head. “You think sometimes?? That’s so cool!!”

“YOU SHOULD! COME DOWN WITH US!!”

“Aw, but…”

YAY STEESS OVER

And ye my worldbuilding is all over the place

“Smart,” Haly remarked. “Mmhmm. Very smart. You know what? I need a new character.”

Huh

Jay was confused. "You want me to get rid of this?"

Jay pulled the axe out of the sheath, not sure what she wanted. "You can take the axe? Just-- um-- don't hurt the tree. That chick--Corysande--she was kinda cute."

@Kajsa

The raven grabbed the axe in her talons and exploded I to a flurry of feathers.

“Thanks,” she said. The young woman was tall, just taller than he was, with huge black wings she folded to her sides as he watched. She wore blue, and feathers sprouted sparsely along her neck and cheekbones. She smiled, holding his axe.

“Mind if I keep this for a bit? Just until I find someone else to leech off of.”

Isn’t that a good reason to NOT DO THAT?

“It’s a curse. I gotta have something that’s very important to someone, or I become a bird.”
