But they're not alive . . . I guess it could be some sort of bacteria or fungus or something.

She grabbed a red one, too, and stuck both shards in her pocket, then continued walking around.

It was the severed skeletal leg of the creature they'd seen earlier. There were a bunch of crystals embedded in it.

She pulled the crystals back out.

She put the crystals away and took his hand, smiling reassuringly.

He laid back on some branches in the upper reaches of the tree, trying not to think about whatever disease his friend had.

Corysande ran her fingers along the ground, leaving shallow ruts wherever she touched. After a while, she scooped up the loose dirt and made a pile atop one of the roots, her hand held over it. The pile shivered.

Holt had been watching (though it was kinda hard to see through all the leaves), and wondered what she was doing.

It shivered again, and then a little flower popped out of it. Corysande smiled a little, gently stroking the petals.

It flew, very reluctantly. 

The GPS beeped, telling him to go north. Eepy hung onto his neck. 

"Uh... thanks, I guess?" He sighed. This was hard to explain.

nah he's staying hidden for a reason

maybe if he comes out of the tree but he doesn't really want him to see her

At least whatever she sees won't be super defined anyway 'cus of the branches and shadows and stuff
