She deflected it easily and shoved it aside, knocking him off balance before stabbing him. 

She whimpered. 

The man screamed, falling, as two more guards rushed in with swords, both striking, each with some skill.

A blond man appeared outside of the ring, regarding the battle with amusement. "Who are you, exactly?" he said, sneering.

Cricket pounded against the metal walls of his cell, screaming. He needed to get out, needed to protect Rose... "Please, please, please!" he found himself crying, as his fists began to bleed from their battering.

She eyed the liquid in her flask, then shrugged. 

“Bottoms up.” 

She gulped it down. 

Dr. Rebus walked a lot more springy than Rebus normally would, but didn’t see any more interesting things to comment on. 
Rebus smiled. “I suspected as much. Hopefully someone decides what that should actually do, or there may be issues…”

Rebus smiled. “I suspected as much. Hopefully someone decides what that should actually do, or there may be issues…” 

"We? We fight, and we die. Not all of us are going to make it out alive." he said, clenching his fists. "But I intend to see you out of this hell if it takes my last breath."

Atreides reappeared, having spent time resting and adapting to his Blade. Rebus was going to pay. He immediately set out, seeking a clone of Rebus to kill. It would be futile, sure, but it would certainly feel good.

Atreides reappeared, having spent time resting and adapting to his Blade. Rebus was going to pay. He immediately set out, seeking a clone of Rebus to kill. It would be futile, sure, but it would certainly feel good.

Kion nodded, looking a lot less alarmed at the prospect of death than at the prospect of uselessness. “I can help, if I can find the words.” 
“I’d be happy to oblige, especially since your Author has a new toy.” Rebus said, standing behind him. “You’re not the only one who’s had some practice.” 
I’ll be back on in half an hour, maybe?

They arrived, after a good walk, at a very nondescript pillar. One of the sciency people clicked a button, and it slid apart to reveal a small metal-and-Nullite empty chamber. 

"Our backup elevator," she explained.

She exploded. 

Rather violently. 

After the explosion, the blinding flash replayed in reverse, pulling together to create the form of a woman who strongly resembled Symbol, but with more ethereal features. Her hair floated, billowing as if in some unseen wind. 

She grinned.

Suddenly, Cricket was very small, and couldn't breath. He was in some sort of box. Who had teleported him? He tried to teleport out, but something blocked him. His Enulling was also blocked. He heard a voice in his ear. "Try your tricks, little Enuller. It won't work."

Back at the fort, Rose was surrounded by guards, all of whom were edging in with their spears, still wary. Cricket had disappeared.
