She giggled and pulled him under with her.

She blinked.

"Ria's gone?!"

He would have taken a breath, but he ddin't have time.

So he was mildly worried that he'd drown.

But really only mildly for some reason.

Just now, Ancient Elantrian said:

"Maybe there's a stream somewhere in this cave? That should be somewhere cold."

She nodded and tried to stand. It didn't work.

You can breathe, y'know, she informed him and she dragged him to the bottom of the lake.

Oh, that's good.

It was good. Very good. He held his breath anyway, for fun.

She stopped once they'd reached the bottom.

You okay?

He nodded, lungs starting to burn, and sat cross-legged on the bottom. It was quite peaceful here.

Hmph.

She hugged him just in case, then grabbed his hand and pulled him along the bottom, to the deepest part.

Glen put an arm behind her back and beneath her knees, picking her up and carrying her along.

"Oh, thanks," she said, somewhat surprised.

Just as he'd hoped, they came to an absolutely frigid underground river.

It made him dizzy, seeing all those glowing crystals. Or maybe that was his lack of oxygen.

He finally gave up and breathed.

It really was pretty.

She tugged him over to a spot where the sand looked like it was boiling as water beneath forced it upwards.

It's a spring! she said happily. That's why it's so clear and cold! Well- that's part of the reason.

That's probably where all these minerals in the water came from, too. The ones that formed the crystals. This whole cavern might have been underwater at one point!

Glen sat by the bank and gently lowered her foot into the water.

Wow. He grinned at her. It's really pretty.

He nodded. "Of course, anytime."

After leaving it for a reasonable amount of time, Glen pulled it out. He held it gently, taking off his shirt and dabbing it off. Then he ripped the lower half of his shirt off, carefully bandaging the ankle.

You didn't know that already, right?

He shook his head and reached out to touch the boiling sand.

”I’m guessing they made her donut. Remember how she said her daughter was missing?”

"I guess I didn't think about it. The guy really did seem to have it out for us though. Some talk about us destroying the world." he told them. Then, Aden's phone rang

Asher took a step back. “Thats a spawn of Jormungandr. Please heimdall help us.” She mutters eyes wide.

“Put your armor back on. You will need its heat shielding.”

Pyk unsheathed his katana, and his armor activated. “Challenge accepted.”

Pyk was more confident than he thought he should be. His friends faces still appeared before him… but… it lost its sting

The dragon raised its maw, then spewed forth a burst of flame at Pyk.

He wasn’t there. He appeared behind the dragon, raising his katana and slamming it downwards. The cavern rumbled as stone crashed downwards and slammed into the dragon.

The dragon shifted before it could hit him.

”That is not the type of challenge I was speaking of, little one.”

The dragon roared again, and crystal bindings appeared around Pyk. They tightened, carrying him to the ground. A projection of a glowing, crystal man stepped from the dragon.

”With my Ascendance, you must be willing to give me up before the Golden Twin can kill me.”

The man extended a hand, and a knife appeared in it. “This is a test of loyalty alone.”

"Thanks." She smiled at him and stood, testing it. She winced.

Something down the hall roared.

The water pushing up through the sand tickled his hand as he touched it.

He laughed.

He laughed at her. Now you're really small.

"What was that about?" Starlight asked, curious

"I don't know." He flipped a u-turn anyway. A fast, scary u-turn.

Mmmm. Perhaps.

She met them there.

“You’ve had one problem, yes,” she said. “But what about second problem?”

“no idea.”

It’s what being human is, I guess.

He was happy now, though.

We thought you couldn’t control it!

Good. Perhaps, after enough service, I will gift you with Narration.
