I think the main goal is to have Five interact with him, cause of what just happened and the fact everyone was in the room except her.

He walked out of the room he was curled up in, pushing past them. He walked over to the window to look over the skyline, which he couldn't believe

Rebus followed, leaving a copy behind to absentmindedly revert alterations to the road. He waved things back into place while talking on the phone. "Yes, I would... No, that shouldn't be an issue... No, I am not running a pyramid scheme... Yes, both nanotechnology and magic... Find some graphic designers, maybe?" 

I was going to have Rebus go comfort Rose, but then Cricket beat him to it.
