"I'm Cricket. Are you... a Narrator? I haven't seen you before. Were you at that one party?"

Just now, Halcyon The Only said:

“I’m Rose.”

"I'm not a Narrator. And I didn't attend the party." The Valiant One sighed. "You're an Enuller?"

“Duly noted.” She reached out with her free hand and healed him—

Scud, it didn’t work.

She growled in frustration.

Bat shrugged. “We’re humans.”

“I’m Rose.”

Meanwhile, deep underground, a silent woman marched Starlight back to his cell. They’d just gotten finished with his daily conditioning, and she’d be back for his weekly conditioning in a couple of hours.

He didn’t know her. He didn’t really know anyone. They rotated the guards all the time.

They left the stark, white hallways behind into a hallway grimy and dark. She unlocked his cell room— fourth on the right, just like always— and locked him there, in the darkness.

He had a new cellmate, separated from him by iron bars. Again, like always. In the brief flash of light, he saw only that the person was rather small. Whoever it was didn’t make a noise.

Okie @_Null_ go ahead and have him think/say/do something and we’ll get the rescue going on pretty soon here :D

@Through The Living Glassyou ciol with playing at least one rescuer?

ok cool.

Starlight refused to say much of anything. Conditioning was always grueling, and it always sapped most of his energy. So instead he went and laid in the corner of his cell, as per usual, trying to ignore the hum of the lights outside the cell door

"You're in a class focused on teaching people to be evil, and waxing poetic about 'evil duels' and 'evil expressions'. Also, you're a Narrator without close personal connections to non-Narrators."

Rebus grins. “I’m sure there are perfectly reasonable explanations for this. Wouldn’t you perform background research if you were going to a seminar? And I’ve interacted with non-Narrators, if you count anybody I know as a close personal connection. Maybe I’m here to infiltrate you, or to use my new knowledge for good.”

"Not sure. I'm rogue, I guess, though they know about me. Can... we go back to the cabin soon? I wanna sleep."

No all good

okie @Through The Living Glass shall we?

In the air ducts above, Aden scowled at the grate. “It’s got some weird technology on it,” he whispered. “Scud. The second we open it, we’ll sound an alarm… might have to fight our way out with whoever we can grab and hope they have useful info.”

"Tam... should be able to fix that... I need sleep." he said, grabbing her hand. "C'mon."

Tam sighed and tapped Bat on the arm, then gestured to a hallway further in the ruined structure.

She kinda just wanted to explore with him and be left alone.

@Halcyon The Only

He shrugged apologetically to @TwinStorm’s Luck, then swam down the hall with her. Soliel immediately noticed and followed them hopefully.

“…Thanks, by the way.”

Hehe :D

We shall 😈

While Aden was busy scowling at the grate, Irie was scowling at him.

"I still don't see why we had to come this deep into the compound," she whispered. "Couldn't we have chosen a cell closer to where we came in?"

She sighed.

"Whatever. I'm ready when you are."

"Yep." he said, taking her other hand, gently. He tried to make a portal but failed. He cursed softly "We're gonna have to walk back. Unless..." he looked at the Valiant One.

"You've interacted yes, but you're not close to them. From my observations, Narrators seem to require regular interaction with normal people in order to remain grounded. Ruia, you, others. It's a pattern. Besides, my evil communication device contacted you."

Oh well. Walking wasn’t the worst thing in the world.
