It was focused on Rose.

The man reloaded his crossbow and aimed it at the monster's head, but hesitated before firing, not wanting to hit Rose.

Tam eyed her distrustfully.

It roared and tried harder to fling her off.

She swam closer. Her hair was dark, and she had a tail. “Please? I could show you my palace,” she offered, sounding almost desperate.

She raised an eyebrow, looking specifically at the small pond.

Then again . . .

This was TLT . . .

Hmm.

She looked to Bat, shrugging. She could get them out if anything happened.

-

The beast rammed its horns deep into the ground to crush Rose.

“Sure,” he said. “We’ll prolly be fine.

She beamed hopefully.

She yelped and jumped free.

The man fired his crossbow into the monster's open mouth.

Bat followed. His shirt was already wet, anyway.

She beamed. “Here, come in!” The water dipped and parted, leading downward in the deeper part. They could see a shaft, leading downward into some kind of place.

-

She rolled away.

“What now?” She shouted.

She swam downwards, Narrating herself and Bat to not need air.

Bat followed.

The shaft opened into a large room with many pretty plants. There were broken windows, crumbling pillars, etc.

She turned to them, looking excited. “Hi! What are your names?”

Tam looked around.

Well, this was cool.

She swam around a little, inspecting the ruins.

Bat answered for her. “I’m Bat, and that’s Tam. How about you?”

“I’m Soliel! Oh— careful of the little red crabs,” she called to Tam.

There were indeed little red crabs, just chilling in the plants. One of them had hold of a flask, though.

“They get possessive,” she explained.

One of the baby crabs was hanging onto her finger.

"I would just hoping to learn a bit about you and your origins, and more specifically, about the conflict you're involved in, and your views on the matter." Sequence took a bag of leaves from her basket, inspecting it for a moment before nodding and fishing a few cups out of the basket. "Would you like some tea?" She asked with a friendly smile.

“My origins? Or my organization’s? I need no tea - and truly, I have very little stake in most conflict.”

Well I missed yours until now, so we're even.

"No, I am merely confident in my ability to handle whatever you do." Malevolence grinned cockily.

Rebus smirks a bit. “Perhaps that is true - you did perform several impressive schemes. But you’re acting on incomplete information, I suspect. And regardless, if this devolves into petty boasting, nobody here gets anything done. Except me, of course, so carry on.”

"Probably. Don’t go in the caves— just call in.” She peered at one that was only eight feet tall. “Try this one.”

" Ok." He stepped up to the cave, itching to draw his sword. He didn't want to be unarmed if this went wrong. "Hello?" He called in. "Can I speak with you?"

But they're so cute . . . she said quietly.

It crawled up her arm and got lost in her hair.

“Too late,” Soleil sighed. “That thing’s never letting go.”

Bat swam over to get a closer look.

"I need my sword back!" The man shouted back. "Can you distract the monster so I can get back on its head?"
