She threw up her arm instinctively, but didn’t bleed where he’d cut her. Not that she noticed. 

She moved into a more defensive position and swiped at him, angling for the space between his shoulder and neck.

Tam silently pleaded -to whichever Author was controlling the small demon orb- to make it stop.

Not that she wanted a response.

But . . . some peace and quiet would be nice. And this was definitely not helping how she was feeling right now.

Aw. The orb turned a sickly shade of gray-blue and alighted on her shoulder. I didn’t mean to make you sad. But I know I’m here for a goooooood reason! Why are you sad? Haha, now I’m the one asking the questions. That’s probably a dumb question to ask, huh? Hmm, so I should be able to answer it.

When Spren came back, she was glowing a very pretty blue-purple color. I found a really nice flower! But… I couldn’t bring it back, because, uh, I don’t have hands. But I did find a pretty flower!
