NameIess Posted January 21, 2025 Posted January 21, 2025 Just now, Sequence said: "... If I'm being honest, I can't say I'm totally familiar with this 'Desolation'. They sound... familiar, but that's it." Sequence leaned forward and reached under the coffee table, where a large picnic basket was sitting. She dragged it out from under the table and opened it, rummaging around inside among a multitude of brown paper bags. "I first encountered him on a quest for a Plotblade." Unintelligible said. "He's an Inkling, capable of stealing Narration from Narrators."

It doesn’t make any sense… but it’s really cool. Go look out the door.” Tam shrugged and grinned, then went and looked out the door. 22 minutes ago, NameIess said: Malevolence appeared in the warehouse with his customary crackle of lightning. "So, final plan is: We use some Narrator or other as bait, Cricket disguises as Stone and comes with me to control the restraining device on the Narrator, I lure Malan in, then I teleport all of you to me and we kill Malan." "Oh . . . huh. Okay. Um . . . hang on."

Sequence scratched her head for a moment. "... Some awfully scary names... Well, how do we find them?" Sequence stood up, and immediately winced, her knees nearly buckling from a sudden spike of pain. She quickly summoned her Narrationblade in the form of a regal white cane, leaning on it heavily.

The warehouse floated, unanchored, in a night sky with nothing else in sight--- just stars.

Briefly, he wondered whether the sky where they'd been was like this at night. He'd never payed too much attention, since things were always happening. He got to pay attention now, though, sitting on the edge of a warehouse with his friend. He liked it. Better than he had before. He didn't dare move, hardly dared to breathe, lest he scare away the feeling.
