The Scribe took her hand, squeezing gently. “It’s a lot to take in, child. Sometimes, I like to just close my eyes, and pretend it’s all a game.” He smiled warmly.

atlas closes her eyes "its a game. Game. It's a game. Like secret Hitler. It's a game. like hide and seek you played with brother."

"where do people go when they die?" She asks suddenly

"So you don't understand it either? How intriguing." Malevolence stroked his chin in thought. "I think I'll go infiltrate their group once I secure the Nullite."

“Hmm. I’ll be watching you. Where would you like the mineral deposited?”

She gave him a hammock, too. Just in case he wanted it.

Goodnight.

Just for good measure, she secured Rose to the base of the tree in a solid metal cocoon.

Night. Thank you. He slid carefully into the hammock.

Rose would have been offended if she were awake.

The Scribe frowns. “Many people believe many things. But… what believe… I believe they go to a better place. Somewhere where they can rest, away from all the chaos.”

"Cards... cards... "

”Yea. You bring a deck, or do I need to supply?”

“Cool! I have a deck.” He began dealing out to the disembodied soul of the OA, the cards floating upside down. “You wanna start, or should I?”

she shifts wrapping her arms around herself. "So... my brother... he is away from all the chaos?"

Tam would not have cared if Rose were awake.

She stayed where she was for a while, staring at the night sky and thinking through the rather . . . disturbing events of the day.

Eventually, she got into her hammock (the tree was very creaky, unfortunately), then continued staring at the sky for a few hours, both unable to sleep and not really wanting to anyway. That, and she was shivering like crazy.

After a while, she got up again and climbed down the creaky, unspecified tree, deciding a walk would help her clear her head.

“You look lonely,” a voice observed, before a bright-eyed Lady Bug appeared in front of her. “Mind if I join you?”

@Thee insane

The Scribe nodded solemnly.

"That's good" She whispers. "That's good."

A computer appears, running Satisfactory.

Tam yelped and jumped back.

"Um . . . hey, Lady Bug . . . sure."

Her eyebrows raised in concern. “Good gracious, I’m not a ghost! I’m not going to hurt you.” She fell I to step with Tam (though her steps were far more bouncy).

Tam definitely noticed. Especially compared to her own slow, trudging gait.

"So . . . how are you? What've you been up to, lately?"

Be back in a bit
