Tam was thinking pancakes.

"Do you have pancakes?"

The Ninja's lip quivered, which was somehow visible beneath his mask. "N... no... I kidnap...."

Bat smiled. "Thank you."

"Apple juice," he replied. "Please."

"Apple juice?" she said, raising an eyebrow. "If you want. And to eat?"

"What about apple pie?" he asked. It was sort of dessert, but he deserved something good after nearly dying twice and  burying his own brother.

“That’s bad,” he muttered. He dug around in his bag and pulled out two small, orange swirls. “Swallow these, okay?”

“Pancakes sound good.”

“I do,” Gaioh said happily. “I’ll take some eggs too.”

The people curse, but keep following.

“Hide,” Tellin hissed.

Yet again, there is a voice in Sylas' head. "You need me Sylas. I can help." The voice hisses. "Push back again..." It says.

Sylas does as he is told, thinking that it is only his mind going crazy, and as he does, the people behind him silently explode into shreds of mangled pieces, but Sylas never looks back, still running up the stairway, unaware of what he just did. Yet still, tears run down his cheeks, as if his subconscious feels the guilt of what he did.

(OOOOoooOOoOoOhhhhhhHHhHh cool plot with two minds inside of him?)

Cricket looked at his friends and smiled. It didn't matter that his world was going to hell, that his brother had tried to kill him, that hunters were watching him, that an unknown villain had blown up a nuke in his face, these were his friends, and the reason he was still alive.

He loved being with them. Tam and Bat, and to a lesser extent, Gaioh. They were incredible people who he trusted, and would die to protect.

He never wanted to go back to the Enullers, never wanted to face the hunters, Malan, or Malevolence. But he would do it, if he needed to, to protect them.

"Doesn't mean it's not disgusting!"

Ugh, she needed to go brush her teeth, or . . . something to get this gross feeling out of her mouth.

But . . . well-

She sighed. Whatever.

"Thanks for trying to help, anyway. I appreciate it."

I kid you not, when I read this I was really happy, because the storyline with the Emperor is him trying to find out a way to destroy this voice that you hear (Xal'Badreal)'s army, which consists of demons that are undead and come back to life even after they are killed. This works perfectly.

"What if I told you I could bring them back.... For a price of course...." It starts to get into your head so much that you are able to tangibly see this creature, a few feet away from you.

Spoiler for Hero of Ages, just in case you haven't read it.

(Think Ruin appearing to people who are stabbed by hemalurgic spikes)

It's body is of humanoid shape but that comparison ends from where you see it's hyena-like head that has charred fur with red eyes, staring deep into your soul. Its mouth drips with this viscous bloodred liquid (Probably blood, but it looks extremely viscous). Its lower jaw is split in two, like mandibles of a dangerous insect, and its fangs are a sharp black. Its arms bare resemblance to an insect as well, though the end of its arms, where there normally would be hands, are these long bladed segments that flow with venom, well seen under its foggily translucent edge, just barely oozing out of each serration of the bladed limbs.

Sain chuckled. Bait taken!

“All that would be reeeeeaaaaallly cool, but they never existed in the first place. I remember that event, but because of the nature of this thread, other people averted it waaaaaaay before it would ever happen. I mean, I shouldn’t exist right now!”

And then Sain tries to attack, curious.
