It started as almost an escaped snort, but quickly devolved into near hysterics. He had to lean against a tree to stay upright. 

And then he was done laughing. He broke the branch in half and threw both halves at the panther as hard as he could. "You think you're so smart, don't you? He straightened and looked it in the eye. You know what? Do your worst. They probably expected me to die out here anyway. You'll be doing them a favor, really.

The panther was a bit confused about why he was laughing, but as soon as he was done, it shook its head and lunged for him.

"Oooooooh," Lady Bug said. "Needs decor, though." She pulled a handful of glitter from her pocket, then thought better of it and shoved it back into her coat.

The panther was a bit confused about why he was laughing, but as soon as he was done, it shook its head and lunged for him.

"Hmm."

She shook her head. "No. It wasn't like that." 

Bat decided at the last second that this looked rather painful, so he whipped out a small syringe from his medical bag, ducked under the panther, and turned to inject the substance into its back. The tensing agent should make the muscles harder and harder to move until the panther turned basically into a statue. He just had to stay alive for maybe two minutes.

The panther roared at Bat as the needle went into its back. It shook him off and rounded on him again, trying to bite his arm.

Bat was too slow and failed to dodge. The panther knocked him over, but he shook it off and stood to run away, clutching his now bleeding arm.

I just call it that since he's a medic... he's had it ever since he left the cave though. 

Bat squirmed to reach his dagger, then slashed it across the big cat's chest and kicked it off. 

She shrugged. "I have no clue."

The panther growled and lunged for him, sinking its teeth deep into his leg.

It seemed to be having some trouble moving, however. Its movements were jerky and almost uncoordinated.

They immediately collapsed to their knees, coughing violently as black blood poured from the gaping hole in their chest, which had only just started to heal slowly. They grimaced, sitting back on their heels and wiping some blood from their mouth.

As the panther strode through the trees, its movement became more and more jerky. It found that which each step it took, it became harder to take another one, until . . .

It finally took one last step and found that it could move no longer.

It was stuck with its teeth still in Bat's leg, unfortuntely.

Bat set his jaw and pulled his leg away, which....... significantly did not help the blood flow. So he drank a little bit of medicine for the pain and set to work with antiseptic and giving himself stitches. He'd kept some from when he'd stitched up Tam.

Bacon seemed to grow increasingly nervous at this comment.
