 Huh, okay. Maybe.

*responds*

Yeah, I'm here. Well, I can talk to you I guess.

“Or we could—“

Gaioh coughed. It turned into hacking pretty fast.

“…you good?”

He waved a hand dismissively, wiping his mouth. “I’m fine. Just a little lightheaded.”

Not quite

it’s a precursor to something quite a bit bigger than this

“I’m good. It’s just a little cough. Lead on.”

Beosta frowned.

Well . . . you should still sit down.

He looked around the island. We could explore around here a little. I'm sure something interesting will happen eventually.

“I have chicken nuggets,” she offered.

Lady Bug tilted her head. “Then why do we exist? If we exist, our words must matter enough for somebody to create us. We must matter somehow.”

“I’ve never had chicken nuggets,” Sasha blurted.

“I know, I was being stupid. I can’t rewrite the past enough to fix it, so let’s pay attention to what’s going on now.” When they reach the train, Kion shrugs. “If the train is going the right way, we’ll be safe for longer, and if it is going the wrong way, it really doesn’t change anything about our situation. So I say we get on.”

“Well, which way is the right way?” Faunus asked, pulling two tickets out of her pocket. As they walked up to the train, shoes suddenly covered her feet again, and her outfit shifted ever so slightly, her white blouse a little more fancy, her long strawberry blonde hair doing itself up in an elaborate braid.

Kion shrugs. "I'm not the one who teleported us into the middle of nowhere - although it is my fault. The right way would be away from the Render, which is difficult because we don't know where it is." He can't (actually, he could, but it'd be stupid) magically refresh his outfit, but he does straighten out his clothes and shake out the sand.

"There aren't many... and most of them are in the building. That will not be how we find a Mystic." He looked weariedly at the blue-purple powder, then took a handful, and swallowed it.

I finally pegged a name for the dragonblood stuff! "Adari" (It means reality breaker in various languages that I've forgotten)

Blue sniffed. "They will suffice." He coughed, gagged, and threw up two small worm things, which he promptly ate again.

I... I don't know. I've... I've never had to think about what to do. It was always following directions.

Charles folded his arms. And were you happy, following directions? Doing only what you were told?

“Nope! I’m still mostly an idea. Although Rebus sounds good…”

I guess there isn’t too much of that to explain. I’m not sure what information I thought there would be; I’ve been reading this thread for long enough I should know most of the mechanics.

"Well, when you figure out what the heck you are, come by and say hello!"

He sighed, but did so.

Maybe-Rebus nods. "Got it! By the way, how many things am I supposed to know? Does it really matter, unless I get involved in an author-related plot?" They go back to reading. "I found a tourist guide to antimatterland. Apparently it's quite nice, although visitors often complain about the temperature - the locals are used to it, I guess."

“Away from the Render, got it.” She said, smirking as she watched Kion straighten out his clothes, green eyes twinkling mischievously. Faunus moved to board the train, handing the conductor two tickets that simply read, ‘away from the Render’ the conductor nodded, gesturing to a train car closer to the front, “First class, you’ll have the whole car to yourselves.”

There. Much better.

Shoe sat down as well.

Unfortunately, he sat down on Beosta's sand-department store.

Uh . . . sorry.

"I suppose that works, assuming you're immune to logic." Kion gets on the train and sits down. "I truly did have fun at the party, brainwashing myself notwithstanding."

Faunus looked at Kion aghast, “You think I’d acknowledge the existence of logic? Please, that’s far too limiting.” She grinned a goofy grin, sitting down across from him in a booth, “Really? You looked scared out of your wits, sitting in that corner, staring at nothing. But it’s okay, you can be honest, you had fun because of the brainwashing. I refuse to believe anyone would have a good time, dancing with me. Especially after I step on their toes.”

"Nah," he said. "I'm feeling fine. Wait for me." He jumped to his feet.

"I was scared out of my wits. But you should give yourself credit; your dancing was better than anything I could do unaided, even when you slipped up with the Narration."

Rebus smiles. "Excellent! It's more fun that way, I think. And look, my name is Rebus now. I haven't been described yet, though - of course, why should I stay just one way?"
