He said it could be like before.

“Well, Qodi apparently thinks they’re snacks.”

Sasha perked up. "Qodi? Like.... that Wompa?"

Ah.

He really wanted to ask again about last night, but the timing didn't seem . . . appropriate. He decided he would ask later.

What'd you say?

Qodi told him, in rabbit language, that she thought he was a bunny doormat for staying with a human.

She didn’t deserve to be here, around such good people. And he’d seemed so normal— almost like when Mother was alive. Almost.

But she really, really wanted to stay.

Well, she really didn’t want to leave Shoe.

That sounds nice, he said, suspicious.

She nodded and stepped through.

Cricket sighed, looking back and bidding Bacon farewell. Let's use this for the time being. he thought. Better not to tell people what we're talking about.

With that, he took a deep breath and entered the cave.

Not sure how that will stop anyone actually important from hearing our conversation . . . but okay.

She followed.

[Actually, I can theoretically scream at any volume, due to my BDS systems. I am an assistant bot capable of performing probability calculations and other useful calculations!]

"Oh wow, really?" James's eyes widened. "He never takes apprentices!"

"Preparing for a trial," said Nogard ruefully.

Tenth looked at him.  I think they had to assign someone like him to me. I caused a small scene, before they found me. And it took a bit to contain the dragonblood.

”Odd. Be sure you don’t perish.”

Kion looks at the knife. “There’s no time to worry about that! We need to be celebrating! I need people to celebrate with. Do you like celebrating?” The distant bit of him not influenced by the spell keeps panicking. Why did I think this was a good idea?
The Render rearranges itself, putting most of its volume into wings. It sheds heavy material and picks up lighter substance from the ground. Soon, each jump sends it dozens of feet forward, getting faster every time.

Bacon appeared in a flurry of confetti and cupcakes. "Subversion! How would you rate that summoning?"

"On a scale from one to ten," Subversion said grumpily, wiping soggy cupcake off of her face. "I'd rate that summoning a 'read the room next time'." Lightning flashed behind her, and the rain quickly melted the confetti into mush. "Bacon, are you good at giving advice?"

"Indeed, it is I! Would there happen to be a light in this room?"

"Give me a moment." A few seconds later, a wavering ball of blue flame appeared, allowing Selppaenip to see the Great Wizard, suspended from the ceiling by chains. "Do you have any experience as a lawyer?"

The paperwork was a very long and wordy document that basically amounted to asking what he had witnessed and if he would testify truthfully about it.

"Well," Moni looked down at the map. "it's about a hundred miles, so we'll be there sometime between a few minutes and a few days."

Cricket gulped. Let me handle this. "I seek the Dreamsmith." he declared.

"Well then!" said Perseus. "We've got quite a walk ahead! Where are you from?" he asked Moni.
