As the adventurer hurried out, Hacob made a silly face at him. For funsies. Who knew what kind of stories that would spread!

"The invitations to the party?" Hacob paused, thinking about it. "Ya know, that's actually a good idea. And no, there really wasn't much I was wondering. Just bored at the party. Too much stuff happening."

"I share your sentiment. Parties are, as you say, rather boring." The Brave Adventurer continued filling out paperwork. "I'm afraid I'm too busy to entertain you at the moment, but there is a chair over there under that pile of paperwork."

Sequence was laughing quite hard, and and wiped some tears from her eyes. “Hey, the ability to trip on this smooth surface is a talent in of itself! Here, let me see if I can help you.”

An invisible surface seemed to rise beneath their feet, and those of any else who were on the “dance floor”, leaving everyone suspended just a foot or so above the deck. A large, lacquered hardwood surface appeared and spread across the open space, concealing the slightly uneven wooden planks. With that, they descended back to the floor. “Better?” Sequence asked, giving Unintelligible a smile.

Unintelligible did stumble (slightly) less on this new surface, but it was hard to tell because his uncontrollable laughter made the rest of his dancing even worse to compensate. "Thanks Sequence, it does help. Now I can show off my impressive tripping skills even better!"

"Alright." The brave adventurer got out his invitation. "Ah, good, they got it working. If you would look at your invitation, it should have a new section that will transport you to the interrogation room."

Nogard held Subversion's gaze for several moments, then blushed slightly and lowered his eyes.

"So," he said, clearing his throat. "Um. What were we talking about, again?"

"I don't know if it can do that. But it will help you express your feelings. Maybe doing that will help you remember what they feel like!"

"How good is your house for sleeping?" asked Lettuce thoughtfully.

Bacon showed up riding a boat. "Ahoy, landlubbers!"

"Well, I don't want to be a ghost if Sasha isn't a ghost," grumbled Lettuce. "Who will pet me?"

You think I fear a measly five pages?

You underestimate my power. 😈

Asher didn't respond, they just stood there. For a few seconds before they knelt down. They took a shakey breath. Completely overwhelmed by the memories flooding their brain. no, it, its mt fault its my fault. I should have done better. Something anything. Asher was still trying not to cry. "That's ok. I suppose I should go back to keeping an eye on Platypus." Hacob stood up, and his chair vanished. Then he vanished, leaving only a spare pen in case the one the Brave Adventurer was using ran out of ink.

Hacob reappeared at the party.

The woman noticed a blue and white knife, visually reminiscent of a kunai floating in the air beside her. It glowed a bit as well.

”I don’t like parties either.” The voice wasn’t quite masculine or feminine, and seemed to be coming from the knife.

The young woman examined the knife dubiously, trying to determine if it was being held by an invisible entity or if it was animate under its own power.

Unspeakably awesome! I am very impressed (and Tomato is overjoyed!)

Tomato peered over Bacon's shoulder at the drawing.

"Whoa!!" she exclaimed. "Is that me!?"

"Indeed it is," replied Bacon. "It's from a fan of the podcast!"

Tomato gasped. "You mean... I'm getting fanart? Eeeee!"

She did a little spider dance of excitement.

"You have to invite them to the castle!" she enthused.

"I'll... uh... see what I can do."

The blade rotated in midair to “face” the woman. A sky blue gemstone was inset in the middle of the flat of the blade.

”I didn’t see you come in.” It mused. When it spoke, the slight glow around it pulsed, and a soft, electric hum accompanied its voice.

Inside the chest, Love Triangles lurked, waiting for the day when it would once more be unleashed upon the Thread to wreak havoc.

Unintelligible stumbled on another invisible object. "I don't see why this is so hard." he complained. " You'd think my training from the school of ningas and gramar would help, but no, it's completely different for some reason. Apparently learning to balance, watch my footwork, and step lightly has no effect on one's dancing skills." He shook his head in disgust at the lack of fairness in the world. "You're quite good at dancing by the way." He smiled wryly, managing to avoid stepping on Sequence's foot by less than an inch. "I mean, you've managed to keep me from knocking you over, a feat that proves you have impressive natural talent."

"I suppose." Moni considered Perseus's words, fingers drumming on the dagger sheathed at her waist. "Your people, the Skavi. How badly are they being treated?"

"Hm? Oh yes, come right in." The door opened, revealing the Brave Adventurer sitting at his desk, which was buried under a pile of paperwork. "Good to see you. Is the party winding down?"

"I am not called the Avenger for nothing. The Skavi are tortured, forced to work fourteen hours a day, fight in meaningless wars for entertainment. I, myself, was lashed endlessly for decades, till my blood ran dry, as punishment. If they will it, you cannot die, only feel pain. So I never died, though a river of blood ran beneath. They are monsters."

Sequence looked at Pyk with rather wide eyes, slowly bringing a hand up to cover her mouth in a shocked expression. “Oh my goodness… I… I don’t know what to say. If it helps, even when this party is over you are always free to visit this planet. Peace is always enforced, and even when I’m absent, there are caretakers who tend to this world.” She paused for a moment, then continued. “… Why does your allegiance still fall with this government? I’m not judging you, to be clear. I know that things can get… complicated.”

Pyk looked her in the eyes, something decidedly strange as he had a blindfold over an acid scarred face. “No. There is someone I need to stop. An Ennuler is loose in my home world.”
