She teleported behind Beosta again.

"Your dad wants to talk with you."

Beosta whirled, then stared at Tam for several seconds before she managed to open her mouth. “My… my… what?”

A wave of shame and fear and darkness slammed into Beosta’s mind. She blinked hard, turning away. “Well, I don’t want to talk to him. How did he get here, anyway? Tell him to go away. Tell him to leave me alone.”

"Um, okay." She vanished and reappeared in the desert again.

"She said she doesn't want to talk," Tam said to the man.

Sensing a bit of what she must be feeling, Shoe gave Beosta a concerned look. What's that about?

These are special barriers. :P

The arrows were plucked from the air by giant hands emerging from the barrier.

Bacon clapped his hands again. The air around the group shimmered.

A ripple formed in the air where the katana would be, but was unable to stop the ball from crashing into Tenth's head.

"Do you mean to say you don't know why you are important?"

The hunters looked around, before sending out a wall of raging fire, heading straight for the barrier.

Cricket looked in terror. Even if the barrier could stop the flames, the heat would be unbearable.

Beosta liked that.

“Portalers? Why would they be chasing you?”

The man scowled. “Just take me with you.”

-

She took a deep breath, readying her cross blade. “I think so. I guess we’ll see.”

Lady Bug gave her a princess dress.

"I don't know. They could be Narrators, but they were too experienced with shifting for that. But that could explain the flames. Bacon are sure this is a good idea, just waiting? Surely they will come up with some way to trap us, burn it, we're already trapped! This barrier isn't letting me portal!"

Lady Bug gave her a princess dress.

She eyed the dress with a flat, unamused stare, before slowly raising one eyebrow at Lady Bug. “Um, no thank you.”

Feeling somewhat self conscious about the dress she was wearing, Faunus wondered where she could find a good pair of boots and trousers. As she thought that, once again her clothing changed to fit what she wanted. Her green dress pulled in on itself, the skirt becoming pants of a dark green shade, the top part of her dress splitting from the rest to become a white tunic, with long flowing sleeves, and laced up the front. A belt sprouted around her waist, made of good sturdy leather like the boots that now covered her feet, a small pouch for coin attached on the side, as well as a good hunting knife.

Glancing down at herself, Faunus frowned in confusion. Who was doing that? Making my clothes change?

Subversion scowled back. This dress isn't even pink! It's black! Made from shadows! What kind of princess wears a dress made of shadows? "I'll have you know that I was doing something actually. Probably because your presence offends the prophetic energies gathered in this place almost as much as it offends me!" Subversion spun around and stalked off angrily, dress shifting into a pair of trousers, a shirt, and a dark grey cloak for no reason in particular.

Faunus raised an unimpressed eyebrow at the scene, folding her arms across her chest once more as she watched Subversion stomp off in a tantrum. “The prophetic energies? Please- as if I could offend them.” She said with a snort of amusement.

"Because they're not injured? Didn't I just tell you that?" The medical adventurer looked confused.

"Yeah, but why do you have to clear them if they're not injured."

Subversion frowned. Who's giving prophecy? And that totally doesn't count, as I'm 99% sure that she was possessed in that game.

Platypus was still confused. And while she was right about that, it totally counted.

Fourteen firefighters showed up and put out the fires with a massive hose.

Asher looked at the cuts “thats almost smoother then if it was cut by mordite” they spun a piece around their finger. “Very interesting indeed.”

Naw it’s good. (Sometimes I just feel crappy and just don’t respond to anything.)

Natural. Some plants and animals use it instinctively.

”Yes.” He strode to a closer, where he extracted a purple blue vial, connected to a bulky device. The end was open, and the sides slightly transparent.

”This should allow sustained, safe studying of the Strands.”

He pressed a button, and a single Strand rose up through the vial, reaching towards the top, staying there.
