Tenth shook the hand, then folded his arms. Nice to meet you. I helped, but I wasn’t able to do much at all. A Mordite blade immediately broke my weapon. I wasn’t an Ennuller, then, so I was useless afterwards.

Shoe was momentarily surprised by the consultant's change in speaking. Right.

He took some shaky breaths to try and calm himself down, though his heart still felt like it was trying to pound its way out of his chest. Yes, I'm familiar with it.

Shoe sat and took some more deep breaths. He tried not to focus on anything, but . . . it was pretty difficult to do.

"No idea," Tam answered.

She sighed. "I hope he'll be okay."

Beosta could feel his mind quivering anxiously. She reached over and touched his knee.

“He’ll be fine,” Bat dismissed, looking at the ground, then the sky, then anything else in the vicinity. Chasms, he better be fine.
