after a bit asher and the others had cleared the town no withergeist. They made their way back. Asher approached tam "hello tam." Asher said trying to sound friends. One of the survivors had gotten on Asher for sounding mean. So they tried to fix it. But didn't know how. "We have checked the town. Do you require a damage report?"

Bat looked down. “Oh… because they said I was the best one for the job. My tattoos don’t… they usually fade in a couple of days and we have to get them renewed. Mine don’t. So the idea was if I got captured, at least a Narrator couldn’t hurt me.”

"Why don't they fade?"

She closed her eyes, trying to block out the pain. Shoe’s touch was strangely comforting, so she placed her hand over his and prolly would have blushed if she wasn’t in pain.

Shoe, ever oblivious to these kinds of things, took this as a sign that she was in even worse pain than she let on.

Shoe is realatable here 😆

Asher nodded “the entire town is desolated. 2 building still have four walls. And any possessions have been burnt.” Asher said bluntly. Causing the survivors (who didnt know about that yet) to get shocked. And some to cry “We put out any fires we could so it did not spread to the forest. But there are no withergeist” Asher didnt know that they probably shouldn’t have said that in front of everyone. Or at least have said it in a less blunt way. “It is no longer a safe place to live and to rebuild would take approximately 2 and a half years.”

I cant bro writing Asher’s total lack of emotion or know of emotion is painful. 🤣

The battle is won, and the dragon is satisfied.

The last of the mist dispersed.

"Is outside... safe?" asked one of the survivors.

Hmm. Well, we had best be getting you to headquarters so that we can un-merge you.

What are you doing? asked the Ennuller sharply, casually blocking Tenth's attempt.

Were there any sleep breaks in between then and now, actually? :P

"No!" Cricket shouted. "No! It's not that simple. You can't take him away from me. There's not enough left of either of us to survive on our own. He's a part of me." he said, backing away from the Enuller. "He's a part of me you'll never take away."

Veleraxon landed softly in front of the humans, and studied them. Then he bowed his head and spoke in all of their heads telepathically. I'm sorry I attacked you, at the time I didn't realize there were humans, I thought withergeists were overrunning the town. What I say today was a true example of courage and strength. You are heroes, each in your own way. I am Veleraxon, dragon of the North. I bid you welcome as hero for your actions saved the lives of innocents.

He's with me!

Asher looked up at the dragon. “Hello veleraxon dragon of the north” Asher’s attempt to sound friendly was still unnatural. Gorlogs beard it was uncanny. “You are forgiven” some of the survivors were shirking back because of the dragon. Some were still to shocked from their abrupt knowledge of the total destruction of their town delivered by the ever so inept Asher.

"That's what I'm trying to tell you! The Dreamsmith does not think he will try to claim the Blades for himself! The Brave Adventurer's reasoning for believing that was the case was almost entirely built upon the letters with the Dreamsmith, and I have visited the Dreamsmith. I have more information that is vital for you to know!"

The Valiant One gripped his dagger tightly, looking like he wanted to ram it into Platypus's chest. "If you have information that exonerates the Great Wizard, then testify at the trial. For now, don't interfere. We have more than enough cause to arrest and try him, and I'm afraid you can't get rid of an order of the council to arrest a fugitive simply by shouting about evidence that you claim to have procured."

7 hours ago, Immortal Platypus said:

Hacob cocked his head, receiving a message from Platypus. Well alright then, that shouldn't be too hard. With some minor Narration, the course TP would be taking would take those with him (including the Great Wizard) straight to him.

In the meantime... these rabbits would need to be taught a lesson.

The rabbits began moved softly, the vibrations in the ground barely perceptible even to Hacob's senses as they stalked closer.

"Master!" cried Selppaenip in relief. "Tell me. What are we to do against the General?"

"The General is a wily foe. And powerful." ... raised a finger. "But any foe can be defeated, if you have information about them and think normally. She is one of the most powerful shapeshifters of her kind, as you can see, and she wields the maces of the Four Ghanderflaffle kings. One can disrupt Narration and other related abilities, one gives her mastery over the elements, one absorbs energy from her opponents, and the last... I do not know what the last mace does. It is a secret known only to Ghanderflaffles. So, given this information, what do you think we should do?"

TP launched an electrical attack against the General.

The lightning was absorbed into one of the General's maces harmlessly, and she continued her swing towards TP's wing.

The Ennuller frowned. Could you be more specific? There have been many dark and bright days, and will be many more.

"I must be careful in what I say." The Dreamsmith stepped between two overgrown stone pillars, and suddenly they were standing in a desert. In the distance, a tower loomed. He began walking at a precise angle just 7 degrees off of the tower. "If any of those mentioned in the prophecy should come to prominence and importance, then they must be watched. I am not saying this solely to you, understand? These words are not solely for your benefit. Others hear them, and of others I must be wary. But these words are for you and yours alone." The Dreamsmith handed the Enuller a folded note sealed with a drop of wax. "Do not read this here. Read it only when you are certain that no one is paying attention. If a whisper of the information in this note gets into the wrong hands, all that you have worked for could be doomed."

A wall was before them, with a door set in it. rolling up his map, the Dreamsmith faced the Enuller. "Our ways must part here. If you have any further inquiries, speak them quickly."

Every series first 3-4 books were great. Ranger's Apprentice was great all the way through, Royal Ranger decreased in quality, so did Brotherband after 5-6 books. I just love the crew dynamic so much more than Will and Horace (all are great characters, but the crew dynamic is way funner and Royal Ranger ruined Will for me. Made him too much like Halt, felt like they recycled the concept.)

Salem awoke in the middle of an empty wood. Shadows, she had done it again. she had killed them. they were gone.

She was back to her smiling face, misleading as it always was. but a smile was a valuable tool. you can hide with a smile. you never lose if your smiling.

She sat up, brushing wood and moss from her pleated, black skirt, and then sighed. she was alone again.

She walked for a while like that, thinking about her latest screw-up. She hated the way it felt, being taken by the withergeist. her agency, her sense of self disappeared, as if she was no longer in her body, just floating above it and watching the massacre that ensued. When she finally got lonely, after the third day or so, she simply fell asleep.

She had a new group of friends to dream about. She would never lose them again. Bacon, Shoe, Bat, Livetha, and all the others wouldn´t die again. they were in her memories.

(she doesn´t know the others are alive, she thinks her shadow killed them)

Asher “uhm.” They walked to see the town was fully rebuilt. Ashers face covered as normal by their mask. But in their eyes. There was something that they had not been there since before their death. “What” Asher’s voice was shaky “something is in my heart. What is this? What is happening? It’s…” Asher looked to tam. Their eyes were wide. “Whats this?” Asher only had vague memories of what life was like before death. But they did not remember this. Only vaguely. “Am i dying again??” Again? This was news to any listening. This would imply Asher had died before.

Technically that would only imply that they'd been close to death before, not actually died.
