Since the plot wasn't going to progress any time soon, Bacon set up a kitchen and began giving cooking lessons.

I agree, the plot is very repetative.

I just feel like there's a lot of unnecessary drama and plot points that go nowhere or end up being pointless/counteractive.

When Keefe runs away, only to be easily convinced by his friends to come back without any conflict real conlict; they argued briefly and then he just was like "okay" and left (if i'm remembering correctly).

 

yeah, that's kinda what I mean by they don't learn.
