NO! YOU'RE ALL WRONG! SOPHIE AND THE OTHERS ARE NOT MATURE ENOUGH TO BE IN RELATIONSHIPS! She shouldn't be in a relationship with anyone, and neither should the others.

Everything vanished.

It was dark, cold, and empty.

And hungry. So hungry. Always hungry. And there was so little food. But this food, this food... This one was full of surprises. It had been one food, then it had been another, and now it was another. This had been good.

("My goodness," said the inspector, awestruck. "I believe we are now hearing the dream eater's thoughts! Who could have imagined?")

But now... now the food was no food. This was not good. Where had the food gone? Had it all been eaten?

("Keep it up!" the inspector encouraged. "I wonder...")

Ista, sustained by the cold, pushed as much hunger into the beast as possible.

The food must be gone. How terrible! Oh well. There was more food, just there... perhaps it would also be as interesting.

The crystal of the inspector's eyes/glasses flashed. He stumbled-

And suddenly there was an image of two people in conversation. The inspector, and... the guide?

"-the Witherlord-" she was saying. She seemed agitated.

The inspector let out a cry of alarm and suddenly-

The group woke up back in the real world, on the gigantic etched symbol. The dream eater, which had been perched on Ista's head, was fading into dust.

Ista grinned. “I guess that might be an effective counter, if I’m alone. But if not…”

Okay the actual plot I think sucks

I'm literally here for it at this point because I want to see who she ends up with

That's it

My problem is that she like fakes you out and it frustrates me.

Bacon entered the portal and appeared at the other side.

"Man," he exclaimed, brushing a suspicious-looking white powder off of his clothing. "Traveling by photon beam certainly is one of the experiences of all time!"

we should probably get back to the plot.

Cricket stepped through the portal, shuddering. He didn't like traveling by others portals. They were different. He reached to his eyes and removed the contact lenses that made his eyes seem brown. They were truly violet. He'd gotten the contacts years ago to disguise himself, but that seemed unimportant now. Also, they hurt.

"Huh!" said Bacon. "I hadn't realized you had eyes!"

I think @kpShadowFox is running the show, so until he gets on... I don't know, maybe you could discuss your backstory with Bacon or something :P

ah okay.

"All portalers have violet eyes, it's how you can tell if they're a portaler or not. It's why I got them, to be inconspicuous, and also, you know, look normal."

"Well, it can't be a very useful method of determining portalerness if you can just cover them up! And why would you care about looking normal?"

"That sounds tiring. I make it a priority to always live on the walk."

Cricket grimaced. "That's not always an option. Growing up in the multiverse-without a home, it's... not pretty."

Shoe pulled out the pad and patted Cricket on the back. Welcome to the club, he wrote, and left it at that.

So do I, kind of. Beosta frowned. But not really. And I haven’t been traveling long. So I probably shouldn’t even be canonically thinking right now. I guess my author is bored.

Bacon was confused as to why Beosta shouldn't be canonically thinking.

I don't think it sucks, per se, just that it's repetitive. they do the same thing, over and over, and never learn.

and I don't think she should end up with someone. they all need to learn accountability and responsibility and become much more mature before any of them should be in a relationship

I agree, the plot is very repetative.

I just feel like there's a lot of unnecessary drama and plot points that go nowhere or end up being pointless/counteractive.

Ex (spoilers):

Spoiler

When Keefe runs away, only to be easily convinced by his friends to come back without any conflict real conlict; they argued briefly and then he just was like "okay" and left (if i'm remembering correctly).
