Because.

You are on the list.

The list of those who need to be apprehended.

The brave adventurer groaned again. “Why am I on the storming list? I’ve done basically nothing. I’ve got no powers of note, no skills of note, and I’m not all that smart either! Why would you want to kill me?”

Simply, you are a threat to the plan. Statistics show that blacksmiths tend to be threats to plans.

The brave adventurer mutters a curse to whatever Narrator has gotten him into this mess, then steps out into the hallway and begins moving towards the end of it, deflecting arrows as he goes.

The hallway began to narrow as he went, threatening to crush him. Eerie laughter followed him, coming from shadowy figures that seemed without form, reaching towards him with ethereal fingers, bent to drag him to his doom.

Ah, description, my old friend.

Ah, description, my old friend.

The brave adventurer picks up speed, sword moving with blurring speed and impossible precision as he slices through both shadow and arrow that try to reach him.

The ethereal figures melted into darkness, going through the stones. The walls slammed into each other and into him, as the arrows failed. But, instead of smashing him to pieces, the adventurer who wanted to be a blacksmith was in a quiet village. Too quiet. Empty of all lifeforms, all activity, and all noise except for a faint wind.

The brave adventurer sheathed his sword and started walking through the village, peering into windows as he passed them.

The sound of faint wind slowly morphed into a faint, incomprehensible whispering.

Something fleshy fell from above, a corpse. It landed on the ground, turning slightly, empty eye sockets seeming like dark pits, no light visible.

The brave adventurer approaches the corpse slowly, sword held at the ready.

The corpse moved, standing. It was in poor shape, it’s legs twisted at odd angles, but that didn’t seem to slow it as it shambled toward the adventurer.

The corpse stumbled, arms falling on the adventurer's feet, grasping onto them until it turned into dust, the whispers seeming to grow louder and louder. The dust swirl around in the air, a red glow flowing through it.

The dust formed a dome around him, ever twisting around and moving. Made of dust, a figure about knee height walked out of the wall, drawing an intricate sword from its back. It was the figure of a man in a t-shirt and jeans. He had a resemblance to... Spook. He stabbed the adventurer's ankle. The figure melted away, the dust flying back into the dome. Where the sword had struck, it would feel like icy flames licking all along the adventurer's leg.

The brave adventurer curses, spinning his head wildly to look for further attacks.

The village was desolate once again, the wind whispering softly.

The brave adventurer sits down and examines his leg where he has been stabbed.

He sees no evidence of a wound, but his leg still burns, though not as badly as it had moments ago.

The burning area would give off a faint green glow, and it would seem to pulse continuously with a slow, throbbing, and stinging burning sensation.

The adventurer ignored his pain and continued, trying to find meaning in the place he had found himself. He walked through the village, but found nothing. The wind’s whispers died away.

The brave adventurer sighs. Whatever entity is trying to kill him, it sure likes to take its time.

The wound would continue to throb, and would always feel that way. The village was mostly empty, except for the wind as said before and some carvings in the walls of the houses and the floors.

The brave adventurer takes the opportunity to sit down and rest his eyes, confident that the laws of TLT dictate he wake up when something exciting happens.
