Well, last we heard, his plan is to start writing Lost Metal sometime in the summer, for a release early next year. Misborn Era 3 won't come until the break between the front and back half of Stormlight.

It would be nice if it was Bastille so that that series could be finished.

If it's something Cosmere I think it would just be a short story or a novella, either of a world we've seen or a minor world from one of the remaining Shards since there's still 6 we don't know where they are. The only full novel I could see it being though is W&W4 and that would mean he started that early with a spring 2019 release planned.

And it'd be the greatest prank ever, especially if he didn't let anyone, including Peter, know about it being a prank on us. I could see a story like this being a story about scientists trying to prove something exists but have to keep it secret from their bosses because it's something too crazy to think it could be real.

Late 2019 I think. Believe he is going to start writing that one later this year, but it probably won't come out until 2019.

Honestly, there's so much open space that could be filled in the Infinity Blade Universe, it's unreal.

• The massive time-gap between the events of the flashbacks and the current story in IB: Redemption(per Jori: ~10,000 yrs)
• The story leading directly into IB 1 could use a little extra fleshing out
• Multiple continents to explore(IB Earth has the same issue as Reckoner's Earth in this regard)
• The "heaven" revelation in the Kingdom Come expansion from IB 3, the vague reference to rebellious Deathless in the alternate ending of IB 1
• So many characters with story potential
• The Great Pact, the Bog Giant/Moss Golem, the MX-series mechs/robots, etc...

The worldbuilding potential is almost endless, and (if they need incentive) I'm sure ChAIR could make good money off it if they got a skilled writer.

Big Possibility of Being

• Wandersail - Brandon said he wanted to do a Stormlight novella before Stormlight 4, so the break between books one and two of Skyward seems like the perfect time. 
• Alcatraz 6 - This is the perfect time for Brandon to finish the series and I wouldn't doubt if this was the project. He probably wants to finish this series so he can focus on other things. 
• Adamant - This is a project not talked about a lot so it would warrant the secret project status. Brandon said he almost moved it to his main project last year. He could have found the other authors to write the other novellas. He has already written one of the novellas so he just has three more to go.
• Sixth of the Dusk (Sequal) - As a novella or novel, this would give us a taste of cosmere we otherwise are not projected to have this year. 
• Silverlight - Same as SotD. 
• Non-Cosmere Short Story Collection - Brandon has said that he wants to do this eventually and now seems like a good time to do it. He could be writing a novella specifically for the collection then releasing it all in one book. 
• Something we haven't heard of or have long forgotten - Hoping this is false but he always likes to surprise us... Skyward. 

Small Possibility of Being

• The Lost Metal - I think we would all love this to happen and he said that he might write this after Skyward 1, but I think he'll stick to his tentative schedule and write the whole trilogy first.
• Skyward 2 - He said he wanted to write the whole trilogy through, but I doubt why he would need to call it a secret project. 
• Nightblood - Unless something essential in Nightblood is needed for Stormlight 4, I doubt this is it. 
• The Azlantian - It sounded in SOS that he wasn't too keen to finish this project anytime soon, but hey, maybe he found a muse for the story. 
• Soulburner - Does anyone know what this actually is? Anyways, it's secretive enough to warrant the secret project title.
• Threnody Novel - Possible but I don't think this secret project is an adult novel, more likely YA or a novella. 

Lows Possibility of Being

• Elantris 2 - Would be very surprised if this were to happen but not impossible. 
• Dark One - He's already working on a YA series at the moment, wouldn't make sense to start a new one, especially after Apocalypse Guard. 
• Death by Pizza - Same argument as the Dark One.
• Aether of Night - Looks to be still on the back burner at the moment, unless he found a muse for the story. 
• Silence Divine - Similar to AoN, It doesn't look to be a priority and as I said before, I don't think this will be an adult novel. 

No Possibility of Being

• Dragonsteel - It's not quite time for this one yet.

When the Skyward secret project was announced I was really hoping that it would be Alcatraz 6. Hopefully I'm right this time because it just seems like a book he'd want to keep secret.

Yeah. There's such great lore for that series. I want a prequel that explains what exactly happened with Galath and Ausar.

Given that Skyward itself was a 'Secret Project' until he formally announced it, this could literally be anything he's ever mentioned an interest in writing (that isn't predicated on some other work being finished first) or something we've not yet heard of. I'd love it to be the Aztlanian, though he didn't sound like he was close to it at the Oathbringer signing I was at when someone asked him about it, or in the SotS. And Adamant sounds like it could be lots of fun, but I doubt he'd work on two sci-fi projects back to back.

Brandon has said that for certain Cosmeric reasons he won't reveal, we aren't getting Era 3 until after the Elantris sequels are done. Their release date in turn is 'some time after The Lost Metal is finished' and that isn't slated for release until Fall 2019 so the odds of this new project having anything to do with Mistborn aside from maybe a side novella are similar to the odds that I'll wake up tomorrow a Truthwatcher. I am aware of that, I was just making a joke about Brandon writing extra Mistborn books when nobody is looking.

I do not think that it is WoT related and understand pagerunner was making a joke, but miracles do happen. I assumed with the author of the Culture books passing away years ago that there would not be anymore culture books being released. But, we are getting a new one (kind of) coming out in 2019:

You know on the Reddit I had seen someone ask if Brandon would ever do something Star Wars related. I doubt he'd do that, he'd have to write it the way Disney wants and all, but it definitely would be something to consider a secret project.

Considering the various reactions to Brandons WOT books, I certainly hope it's not that. Also, he's now popular enough that he doesn't have to endure fan negatively writing other series books and Brandon just doesn't need that. It could be apocolypse guard. Apparently based on twitter, he and Dan are co-writing it

Someone might have already said this, but I'm a little disappointed that this thread wasn't named "There's always another secret [project]" 

As for what it could actually be, I have no idea.  Hoping for something Cosmere but not sure how likely that is.
