Tybou_14 Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 (edited) I'm sorry if i ruined this for anybody not finished with the book yet but oh well. Nightblood has made it to Roshar, that is for certain. Ever since reading it i cant help but wonder how. There is supposed to be two more books written after Warbreaker (if Brandon ever gets around to them) so that means a lot of things canand will probably happen. Considering how Warbreaker is set before WoK and WoR leaves me with even more to consider. So far i have come up with a couple possibilities. First is that somehow Hoid managed to bring it to Roshar with him. My only other theory is that one of the characters from Nalthis takes it with them after Warbreaker's follow up books. If anybody has anything to add like a theory or suggestion have at it. Edited March 8, 2014 by Tybou_14
Awesomeness Summoned he/him Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 (edited) Reread the Zahel pov chapter and you might find he has a lot in common with a certain prominent individual from Nalthis who would likely have brought nightblood with him to Roshar. Edit: there has also been quite a bit if discussion of this topic on a few different WoR threads if you search around. Edited March 8, 2014 by Awesomeness Summoned 1
Tybou_14 Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 Yeah i saw all that after I posted this (of course)
Argent he/him Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Yea, you should really change the title to something less obvious...
Tybou_14 Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 Well I figure if they really don't want to spoil the book they honestly shouldn't get on this site till afterwards. Andddd i don't really know if i can change the title now. 1
Tybou_14 Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 Btw I wonder how Vasher ends up being alone
Asperity he/him Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I closed the Recent Topics sidebar so I wouldn't have to deal with spoilers. I don't know why you would post on a forum if you don't have the barest amount of respect for others. 1
Elbereth she/her Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 There is only one sequel currently planned for Warbreaker, actually. Not two.
AerionBFII he/him Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 When i read that part in the book and the sword spoke......i threw my head back and squealed, the Fangirl inside AWAKENED. 3
Vroqren he/him Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I didn't even make the connection the first time I read it, not until I was talking about it with my brother. It does make total sense though, and I'm re-reading Warbreaker right now.I'm glad to see the cosmere already starting to coalesce, in just the second book. Szeth will certainly be different without Lashings.
Quiver he/him Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 And you all called me mad when I said Warbreaker was my favourite book. Well who's mad now, hmm? WHO'S MAD NOW?! Soooo excited to see Nightblood and Vasher return. I kind if suspected Zahel was Nalthian during my reading, but I wasn't if I was right or if it was just wish-fulfilment. Glad to see it's the former, though I'm going to be very curious to see what happens if Nightblood falls into a group of Alethi. Those guys have such a desire for magic swords, I can see the entire army tearing itself apart. Makes me wonder why Nalan didn't ever use it though. 2
Sabrina Stormshard she/her Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I'd love to know if V has sanctioned his separation from a certain naughty sword. Maybe it's the price for him being hopped to Roshar?

Ha, so I'm not the only person who thinks WB is pretty much the most awesome thing Sanderson's wrote. Seeing V and NB in this book was like awesome (as Lift...or not). Still though, I can at least boast that I knew it was V by his Interlude (more or less because my I thought, storms, Zahel is such a grump...oh my worldhopping Vasher theory was right after all. Ha...) I'd love to know if V has sanctioned his separation from a certain naughty sword. Maybe it's the price for him being hopped to Roshar? Maybe he made a deal with Nightwatcher, giving up Nightblood was his boon or some such thing. I'be seen it suggested that he lost Nightblood because he's not that careful with him, but I think that's too simple or perhaps I think it would be more interesting if him losing the sword were either related to character-relational development, Vasher's temper, or Roshar's investiture (NW). But, I think he is probably informed enough to have come on his own...maybe.
