So I have 6h 49m left on the Audiobook for Oathbringer and if this is proven wrong in the next few hours feel free to call me a moron and send me on my way but I've noticed that throughout the whole book any Fused which uses a surge has only ever been shown to use one not have 2 like the Knights Radiant. All the flying Fused have only ever been shown to use Gravitation and not Division or Adhesion. And then the Fused thief trying to steal the King's drop from the Thaylen City vaults only use Illumination.

So do you think that Voidbinding only allows for them to perform one surge? or that they haven't been using the other surge that they have been given.

So this has nothing to do with your theory(I agree with Calderis, FWIW), but this is a greatly entertaining statistic you've provided us.

The Fused in the Thaylen Vaults is in Interlude I-13, so you've gotten that far already. There is only one interlude, nine chapters, and the epilogue after that.

Thus, Part Five of the book is nearly 6&1/2 hours on the audiobook, which is patently ridiculous.

However the whole book is 55 hours so 6.5 is a surprisingly short amount honestly a very small amount only about 12%

Voidbinding is Odiums manipulation of Surgebinding. When he was trapped in the greater Roshar system.

At first the humans were Voidbringers, now its the ancient Parshendi.

Odium does not want to lessen his power, so he contaminates other investiture.

Thats why most are red spren and a very few are 'Golden'.

Gold is of Odium. As we now know.

@Thanatos Are you referring to simply gold the colour or also the metal because that brings up some very interesting possibilities for Mistborn in future if Odium escapes Roshar at the end of the Stormlight Archives rather than being splintered or changing Vessels such as with Ruin and Preservation

When did we find out that gold is of Odium? I already all the Stormlight Archives.

Gold is the Color associated with Odium.

You May notice It both from his apparences and how fast the Stormfather links the "Golden light" to Odium

@Thanatos I Will be' cautios to say things like that. We don't know if he Fused are Voidbinder, so We don't know how the Voidbinding works.

Many clues seems to point to the Fused's magic as not the Voidbinding but It's hard to say something about for sure

Also the "voidbringers" Word has a so wide meaning to be' quite useless. It's like our "demons" the Singers use It in the human's invasions (that were not Voidbinders) regard and the Human kept using It to describe "Evil forces".

  • 3 weeks later...

[OB] So when Dalinar  experiences the golden light and associated warmth as familiar somehow, though he cannot place it in his muzzy state, that tells the readers that Dalinar has known Odium before . . possibly. .. ?

So much more to read ...
