Just don't act too honourably... On the off-chance Stormlight does the same thing for contacts it does for tattoos, you might be in a little trouble.

But would you need glasses when holding Stormlight? There's good evidence that it increases your hearing sensitivity (Stoneward in Dalinar's vision), so it may increase your visual acuity as well. It seems to perfect basically everything about you.

The contacts are colored, so that you become lighteyed. They're not for vision.

But holding Stormlight changes your eye color, so you wouldn't really need them there either. I guess it might be reasonably hard to keep Stormlight on 24/7 though.

I'd be born on Ashyn, so that my Tourette's Syndrome would give me super-healing or super-speed or something as well as annoying spasms, and I'd live on Sel under King Raoden's rule, and I'd work on Roshar.  Granted, it's quite a commute, but it's definitely worth it.

yeah. So the proposed solution is color contacts + no Stormlight.

Feather, you would be a minor character stepping into the middle of an epic fantasy plot, wanting to get attached to major one. That's just about BEGGING to get killed.

oh no! She'd be littlefinger!

I want to visit all of them! Just not Roshar for any length of time, that place is about to become even more messy than it already is. And certainly not Scadrial under the Lord Ruler, that just seems like a bad idea. So, basically, I'd like to World Hop with Hoid and study/practice different magic systems. That sounds like a suitable mix of exciting and reasonably safe.

Roshar probably.  Just because the whole "light-eyes" thing would guarantee me a decent spot in the pecking order.

But aside from that, probably Nalthis.  Sel is pretty unstable around the time of Elantris I think?  And Scadrial's got the whole evil empire thing going on.

Scadrial during the AoL time period sounds like a fairly nice place to live, all things considered. I would like to live in the Roughs--away from large cities, but still with access to a couple of luxuries like books. Even though there wouldn't be any easy way to gain access to Investiture, a pretty good living could be made. Imagine setting up an old-fashioned farmhouse, maybe hiring the local Pewterarm to do a few chores...

Unless a clan of koloss comes and murders you. But hopefully the likelihood of that is pretty slim.  ;)

Nalthis or Roshar.

I want to test Roshar's magic stuff, but Nalthis seems like a semi-paradise... in Hallandran, anyway. What time periods are we looking at?

Testing Rosharan magic: what happens if a darkeyes bonds to a Shardblade and then surrenders it?

Edit: The white sand world too!

I chose Scadrial assuming I'd be either a mistborn or ferochemist. If I wasn't allowed any innate magic I'd really rather stay here. If I was forced to chose, I'd probably go for Nalthis cause I honestly don't think I have the patience to learn the magic of Sel.

I'd just pay/work with a Forger to make me some Essence Marks.

Given the inherent unreliability of Forgers, I would not trust them with my soul. I would need to put in the work to be able to verify everything they did, and at that point their work would almost be redundant.

I'd go with Roshar, as I have light blue eyes and would become a part of a higher caste. Its kind of silly, but If I went to any other world I would have no advantage at all, since magic is determined in ways I wouldn't be able to attain it. If I went the Nalthis route I doubt I'd be clever enough to buy enough breaths to really do anything.

I am going to wait on this subject until the second mistborn trilogy is out. It will depend on how easy the access to the magic is. Or could I just say, I would live on this or that world with this or that power?

Ehhh... Roshar is kind of... Apocalyptic and hellish by earth standards. I mean, living as a fairly wealthy Azish or Alethi can't be too bad, but still...

Hurricanes every week. No thanks.

I chose Scadrial, either Aol time or modern trilogy. I'd want to be on the southern continent and be a magic machinest, or a ferochemist northern continent. I wouldn't mind western vorin Roshar since my eyes are greeny blue, but it wouldn't be first choice.

Yeah Swimmingly is correct, The Silence Divine is a planned cosmere book that we've heard about over the years.  Ashyn is one of the three planets in the Greater Roshar system and magic there is related to illnesses/handicaps.  I.e. having the common cold gives you the ability to fly, the chicken pox  super strength, stuff like that.  If I remember correctly it is also supposed to have a modern tech level.

Are we certain this isn't the name of the last Alcatraz book? :P Edited by Shaggai

I see you're joking, but there's a pretty big difference: In Alcatraz, the powers ARE the disabilities. On Silence, they're just a gate to them.

I found it really interesting how Silence Divine changed during the tour. I watched the signing in Texas on youtube, and there were quite a few changes between that draft and what he read at my signing.

The girl or whatever that followed the PoV character started out saying DEATH,DEATH, SHADOWS, and stuff like that. By the time it got to me it hard turned into Fidlurgandak, or something similar. There was something else, but I can't remember it. If I do I'll edit this post.
