Yes I'm doing another one of these. My old thread died so I'm doing it again.

What kind of character do you want in an interlude? And who do you think will be Oathbringer's interlude character?

I reckon the interlude character for Oathbringer will be Jasnah. It might show her with Hoid as she travels to Urithiru.

I have the feeling the interlude novella will be Moash, something for which I'm not too thrilled. Then again secret society info (maybe we should just shorten them to SS) is always appealing.

Perhaps Jasnah will show up. Perhaps Rysn to establish a bit more about larkins. More lift. Venli. The possibilities are numerous. I would like to see some Amraam and the man who calls himself Taln. I would love some Shalash or Zahel or even Nale,Szeth, and Nightblood.

Sure I don't see where that shortcut could go wrong :D

Vivenna.

Maybe in a short one like that Zahel/Vasher interlude in WoR would be cool. A cool scene for new readers and an easter egg for cosmere diehards.

Pssst. Its not sooo bad. We already call Stormlight Archive SA.

We actually already know 2 of the interludes, saw them at various readings. I think its almost certain Rysn has one. 4 belong to the interlude novella. That doesn't leave too many more. I'd love to see a Herald pov, any herald at this point, but Shalash would be a plus considering she will be a flashback character in the back five books.

I am not the biggest fan of Moash, but I am interested in SS and I find Graves interesting. So I hope we get Moash POV. I doubt it will be in Interlude form though.

Since I read @The One Who Connects theory about Rysn and the Lanceryn, I have become even more Rysn-invested than before. So I would defenitely like her as a Interlude novella character. Also, Thaylens are cool.

As for new Interlude characters, one from Mraize, Nale or Amaram would be great to read.

I expect some characters to make a return - Rysn, Szeth, Taravangian, Eshonai, Lift. I'd like to see the everstorm (or at least its effects) through the eyes of one of the Sleepless.

Szeth and Eshonai will not be part of the interlude: they have been promoted to the main narrative. I mean, as far as we are aware.

For my part, I'd love for Brandon to surprise me. So apart from guessing the mystery novella from part 2 and the interlude novella might go to either Taln or Moash and apart from Id guessing Lift and Rysn will make apparition, everything else is up for grabs. I'd love to have new perspective, perhaps of events happening elsewhere, new characters, perhaps new Radiants not tied to the main narrative characters.

Actually, considering Brandon said he didn't fancy writing travels within his books, I seems highly likely Jasnah's trek back home will not be featured within any chapter. We are likely to see her when she gets someplace important or when she meets someone having a viewpoint. Jasnah and Hoid travelling together isn't very likely to happen, especially considering Hoid is a recurrent minor character, not a major player within the narrative. I mean not to say he isn't important or anything, but he isn't likely to play a defined role nor is he likely to interact more than sporadically with a few specific characters.

An interlude by a new surgebinder will be very nice, (Edgedancer spoiler)

Spoiler

may be one that Nale goes to recruit and since we expect to see the change in his attitude.

As for places I'm most interested in Kurth, the City of Lightening and Rall Elorim, the City of Shadows. Oh, and hopefully we'll get to see Redin again even if not in an interlude.

I'd like to know more about Rira...

Nale... rounding up the Heralds and slapping them into sobriety. "Look here b****es... it didn't work. Here we go again"

I'm repeating myself, but Taravangian.

All the Taravangian.

Yes.  100 times yes.  I can't wait to see what his next move is (Probably some sort of an attack/move against Alethkar.  But that might just be wishful thinking haha).

In no particular order, I'd love to see any or all of the following as PoV Interlude characters:

  • Rlain - I really want more Parshendi point of view stuff
  • Jasnah - SO MUCH stuff I want to know about how she knows what she knows and what all she actually knows
  • Zahel/Vasher - I really think at some point he has to figure into the bigger world in a bigger way.
  • Rock - I just love the guy
  • Taravangian on a stupid day and on a brilliant day - both for comparison to him on an average day and for more illumination on who he is and how wildly he varies.

Lots of others, but those are (right now) probably my top five... at this particular moment.

I think this (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schutzstaffel) is what Rasha was refering to but I could be wrong. That being said, I think we would be fine using it.

Hihihihih, I know, I studied that period of history in detail. But there were 2 paramilitary groups going on around then. SS is the most famous, but SA was also pretty big till they were betrayed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sturmabteilung
