Steeldancer he/him
So I have a hardcopy of shadows of self, and the description says there are 4 religions competing for followers. I've read it several times, and only ever been able to identify two. Is this a typo? If so, what are the other religions besides Pathism and Survivorism? 8bitBob
Can't recall the fourth, but there's definitely Sliverists, who worship Iron Eyes.
Snipexe he/him
I believe the fourth is trellism, whose followers who worship trell.
+Extesian he/him
The God Beyond has worked its was into society enough for Wayne to refer to it.
Nathrangking he/him
According to the coppermind the 4 are pathism, survivorism, sliverism, and trellism.
Snipexe he/him
I'm guessing the reference to the god beyond was somewhere in the words of founding, and not an actual religion Edited August 6, 2017 by snipexe
Nathrangking he/him
It could be that it is a very minor deity. The coppermind does mention that it makes appearances on several shardworlds and was worshipped on them.
Steeldancer he/him
Ok then. I sort of saw Survivorism and Pathism as the big ones, and the other ones as kind of small and unimportant. (Besides the set trellism.) Thanks!
Nathrangking he/him
I would tend to agree that the likes of trellism should be considered minor at best I guess the whole miles situation made it important.
Weltall
Not to mention the Set. The God Beyond seems more like a concept that's spreading across the cosmere rather than a religion per se so I doubt it would count as one of the four. While this was originally the case, the religion seems to have evolved to revere Iron Eyes over time. From Alloy of Law: Quote “Precisely,” she said. “And, in order to fulfill that purpose, everybody else must be invited. The Yomens are powerful, even if they do believe in Sliverism. Horrid religion. Imagine, revering Ironeyes himself.
Nathrangking he/him
Scadrial seems to be somewhat able to survive despite the animus each group has if odium planted roots like on Roshar things could get ugly.
