Suggestions to all, I was thinking it would be nice if we were to have sub sections dedicated to each part of Oathbringer, free of spoilers for the subsequent parts. I know I am not the fastest reader, so I know I will finish the book after many others, but I would still enjoy the opportunity to discuss what I have read so far without running into spoilers. Also, I thought it would be neat to record our perceptions, our thoughts and where we think it is going on a part by part basis?

Are there any other takers?

I'm all in for this.

The ebook will arrive on my Kindle at midnight (UTC+1) on the 14th November and I will probably read for an hour. The days after that will look like this: Wake up, shower, take commute to work, read while commuting, work, occasionally slip in a few passages, read during break, work, occasionally slip in a few passages, take commute back home, read while commuting, come home, prepare and eat food, read, sleep, repeat.

I resisted it @maxal but it's quite good. Totally fine just to type, that's the norm. I prefer the forum but some great discussions take place

Agreed, it's fun to read some of those debates haha.

Alright, I'll check it up sometimes. Maybe I can be a silent lurker for a while to see if I like it or not.

My wife is due on November 11th, and the end of year exam period begins on November 13th, so... I guess I'll have my parents come care for us and repeat my year :P

Drastic times...

oh well... Journey before destination!

Which order are you? Because you seem to interpret that differently than people here like to accept. :)

The order of the Phoenix. The order of Pagerunners. The Truthwatchers. All seem equally applicable right now :)

Burn it all down and read that book.

Hell of a journey right there.

Exactly :) then start again from the ashes of another year.

Sadly this book comes out right in the middle of midterms. Plus there is the added bonus of November 14th being my sister's birthday. Either way I'm not getting a hold of this book until late December.:(

I ordered the (UK cover) hardcover from Amazon, it'll arrive on the next week after release. Somehow Stormlight books, I just can't enjoy them if they're not physical copies!

Pre-ordered audiobook. Pre-ordered Kindle copy. Will get hard copy when Brandon comes to Borderlands bookstore in San Francisco on tour. Likely will have read though the book before I see him in person. :)

I plan to get it ASAP and try and break my own book reading time records, and then spend the next 6 months poring over every sentence.

I read WoR quite quickly.  Infact, I skipped the interludes and then went back and read them later.  WoK was more skimmed second half than read (listened audio with half an ear.  Still can't bring myself to read/listen that section again where Szeth changes his handlers to Mr. T.  That whole passage...zzz

Looking to change my approach with OB.  Take it slowly and savour it.  Maybe do a progressive read thread/blog this time around.

Pre-ordered a UK cover copy and for some reason it doesn't arrive home until the 27th of november... So I'll probably have to forfeit all contact with social media until I can read it. I would hate to spoil even the slightest word.

When it arrives, there will probably be several sleepless nights ahead of me. No regrets. I'm afraid I cannot take this kind of thing slowly. The hype gets to me, and knowing I have easy access to what happens next, I am never able to slow down.

I chose none of the above since I'll listen to the audio version at double speed... that's just how my brain works,  no Zink needed. It'll probably still take me a week to listen to since it'll probable be 72 hrs of listening (my family will want a little attention.... except my 17 yr old who will hound me till it is finished)

Then I'll spend the next 6 months listening to it while I sleep the day away for another night shift. Eventually I'll have to start from the beginning (TWoK) and work my way through dissecting it in my dreams until I know the story backwards/ forwards/ sideways/ and inside out. Then have all my theories blown out of the water when Comic-Con rolls around and Brandon throws a monkey wrench into the works like he always does.

I love how there are zero votes to wait for the paperback. Most of us just don't want to wait, and those who will wait want a nice hardback, audiobook, or just want to borrow from the library. But no one wants the paperback.

This will actually be the first Stormlight book I will read all the way through. I have read parts of the story and like to browse the pictures of my physical copy. I use the term "read" synonymously with "listening" and realize that may be confusing for people and should of made that more clear in my pole. Krammer and Reading do a great job presenting the Stormlight Archive story.
