Chaos he/him Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 I was just curious to see people's reaction to what we're doing here. Are you liking the site? ...Well, you're posting here, so you probably do, but what would you like to improve your user experience here? If you don't come by frequently, what can we do to get you here more often?
firstRainbowRose she/her Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Or if you'd prefer something a little bit more anonymous you can also go here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ZVYZTYP
ZeldaDad he/him Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 I took the survey. Also, everything I said in it was positive!
Emeralis00 she/her Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 I think this place is great! I also took the survey, but not because I wanted to be anonymous. (I was the one who misspelled the web address)
leinton Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 The times I don't spend here that often (like now) are usually due to the fact that I am too busy with other stuff. This place is great!
Joe ST he/him Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 indeed, this place is full of awesome you guys are doing a great job of it
Chaos he/him Posted June 10, 2011 Author Posted June 10, 2011 While I have you here, what sorts of displays, browsers, and operating systems do you use when looking at the site? Does anything look odd to you, display-wise? Sometimes it's the really small things that enhance user experience. Some computers I try don't display the diamonds properly, for one thing.
ZeldaDad he/him Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 I use Google Chrome. Everything looks good.
Emeralis00 she/her Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 I also use Chrome. My OS is Vista. and what do you mean by displays?
Chaos he/him Posted June 10, 2011 Author Posted June 10, 2011 Oops, I totally wasn't clear there. I was referring to screen resolution.
FellKnight he/him Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Oops, I totally wasn't clear there. I was referring to screen resolution. Is there anything but 1920x1080? Looks fine to me. I also browse at work where the resolution is 1280x1024, which is also fine. Fell
Emeralis00 she/her Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 my screen is 1440X900. Truthfully, I don't know if that is good or not...

Fell 1920x1080 is awesome. I have a dual monitor setup running that. It's sweet. my screen is 1440X900. Truthfully, I don't know if that is good or not... It's pretty typical for widescreen monitors. Middle of the road. The only reason I ask is because I realized our site isn't compatible with 1024x768 monitors. And though I'd make fun of you if you were on something that bad, it's important to be compatible. I read today that 20% of monitors are still that size, and it's kind of dumb to not be compatible with it. Besides, a lot of people at work have ITs that suck at upgrading. No need to punish those peeps.
Joe ST he/him Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 I'm running in 1024x768 (or something similar, according to my window manager) and the site looks fine. Chromium on Arch Linux + X.org + enlightenment

Chromium on Arch Linux + X.org + enlightenment Well, the default skin is 1040 pixels wide, so you should have a horizontal scrollbar (which I hate). I've created a fix on the testbed skin which scales it back, but I haven't added it to the main one yet.
Joe ST he/him Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 heh I wouldnt trust my 1024-ness, the wm seems to decide what the resolution is depending on what site is opened...I dont have a scrollbar so I guess it's not right.
CrazyRioter she/her Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 currently running Firefox 4 in 1280x1024 on WinXP.
Zas678 he/him Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 You know, if you wanted to see how many people on the site are using different operation systems, resolutions, speeds, etc., you could make Google Analytics a part of the site. It's pretty easy to use (it puts cookies on the computer and tracks where you go on the site).
